Bultaco

Featured Replies

Hi there, I'm after abit of advice about my 1978 bultaco trials bike, it's a 325, it's currently having rebuild at the moment but I'm abit concerned about the crank case bearings, I've took both casings off to expose the clutch side and magneto side and checked to see if there was any play, I found that I can move the crank from side to side but I don't have any up or down play, does this mean my crank case bearings are shot?? Any advice apreciated, cheers

if there is movment in the clutch and magneto they need changing. on the con rod its normal for side play. not the crank bearing. so you will have to split the engine.

Thanks, that is what I thought about the Con rod, but wasn't sure if the same applied to the crank.... More work!! Thanks for the info

yes but worth doing as it will only get worse. i had the same problem ended up striping the engine
