A guy at our club asked me about testing the cooling fan on his 92 Aprila. I haven't seen the bike but he says there are three wires going into the fan and a single wire thermal switch.

What is the best means to check if his fan is working? Can you direct me to a electrical schematic or tell me which wires to jumper across? Thanks for the help.

You should just be able to jumper the thermal switch and see if the fan comes on. I have had to replace the switch on a much newer Beta.

If the switch is single wire, run it to earth to turn on the fan (touch it to the jug). If it two wire, join the wires together to run.

Thanks for the advise. It was the the coolant switch.
