Hello all. My Friend has a 2009 290 Sherco. Which Gear oil should he use in it? What oil fuel mixture should he run?

My 2010 runs putoline light gear oil and 80:1 mixture. That's 12.5 ml of oil per litre of fuel. I've never had a problem with either

Hello thanks for that. I only ask because he's been told to run ATF in the gearbox and I thought it was only gasgas that liked that??

ATF is mighty fine,it makes the clutch action a little sharp-ish but some people prefer that.  I've used it in all my Shercos for many years, without fault.

I mix my 2-stroke oil at 65cc per 5Litres of petrol, again for many years without any concerns.

As Ham said, ATF is fine, I've been using it in Beta, GG and Sherco's for years.
