Hi all, brought a 06 sy250. Runs sweet but is sluggish when opening throttle up hills, has a slow action throttle and a adjuster near the throttle housing, maybe wrong cable?

Also has anybody heat wrapped the header pipe? Burnt my wrist on the pipe as I tried finding neutral with my hand.

Cheers

Mine is 06 and grab uphill well, could be carb issue. I am just careful not to touch the headpipe, but I have installed some kind of aluminum screen over the silencer, to protect my left leg.  I made a screen on my KTM headpipe, it could be idea for you (fixed with two hose clamps, easy to move or remove). Hope the pictures shows what say.

Exman that's exactly what I need to do!! Cheers :-) found a carbon header guard but was unsure how it fits.

Regarding carb, I striped it down and cleaned it out. Maybe needs rejetting or something

What two stroke mix are you using? And what 2t oil?

Mix and quality of oil makes a big difference I find.

I use 75:1 oil ratio, I find it runs well and not smokey. PJ1 oil.
