Tr280I Clutch Cover And Rubber Kickstart Stop

Featured Replies

Anyone have to replace the little rubber stopper for the kickstart? Any tips to give me while i install the new bit?

Never had to replace it but have had the cover off several times. It is fiddly for sure, I think I found it easier with the bike leaning over but you just have to watch the clutch top hat to make sure they don't slip below the fingers. The stopper itself just slides into its place. I think I have a "how to" on clutch cover removal and will email to you later when I get to work

Thanks for the doc.It was actually very easy to do.But a little "fiddly" getting the clip and gear in place at the same time.I think this will make the motor a bit easier to kick thru.

Be sure to have a good look at your own levers position. There is a chance of doing some damage if bits of that rubber stopper get into places it shouldn't be.And without it,the inside of the cranckcase will be damaged. Here is a before and after pic.(yes,it's the same bike)
