September 22, 200520 yr I've seen one advertised by a dealer at what seems a reasonable price but before I travel a long way to view would appreciate any advice. Is it a reasonable first bike, what faults should I look for, value? Etc. Thanks - hopefully!
September 22, 200520 yr If you are paying any more than 1000 - 1200 it's too expensive. It's very much a buyers market at the moment if you've got 1500 to spend you should be able to pick up an 03 bike for that money.
September 22, 200520 yr Good bike, though. Fine for a novice. There used to be ideas that some bikes were "experts' bikes", etc. If it was ever true...it no longer is.

September 23, 200520 yr I know nothing of the value of bikes over there, But I do know, that it is very important to your satisfaction in riding (especially just starting out) to have a dependable, trustworthy and caring dealer near by to support you. And a lot of that rapport, starts with buying a bike from them. Hope you find something that suits your fancy.
