Wyoming Nationals

Lineaway: We've got a new ski resort opening just above town (Richmond, Utah). The owner of the resort was down visiting me a week or so ago. I mentioned that he should host a trials event at his place, and he asked me to put him in touch with someone that would be interested in putting on an event. This place could host a national, easy. Very cool place, paved road to the place, lot's of parking, etc. Terrain is crazy. Lifts could take spectators all over the mountain. Let me know if you think anyone would be interested.

A ski area can be heaven to a trials club. But you have to have a local club, which takes a lot of work mainly from a few dedicated souls. I was one of two trials masters for the first  National set at Taos Ski Valley. We spent every weekend up there that summer as there was no loop and all the sections had to be cut out. Setting is just the beginning, as a national requires a whole club. ( I was the President also for the first two) We have been lucky as we have been using Sipapu Ski Area for our last few Nationals. Much easier as we have ridden there now 23 years.

Nice find Pete, but I`m not sure of a club close enough. Maybe it`s time to get one started! Good Luck.

Wow, a possible site with lodging and facilities is a gift from above! Line is right about being driven by a local club, and a few dedicated souls, but even with the lack of a local club at the moment, might be of interest if we can gather some individuals willing to put in the effort that are close enough. Will give NATC a heads up on the interest by the owner and see if we can generate any traction. Pete, if you PM me some details, I'll carry this forward and advise.

You bet! He rode it two years ago with Sammy Fastle and Daniel Blanc Gonnet and they all had a blast, and it fits the schedule this year, so he's out there for a great weekend!

So he was playing at Turkey Rock! One of my Colorado favorites! I heard there were just a few riders hanging out!

Yeah, a bunch of the Sherco team are there having fun and helping out at the Youth Nationals, then heading to the Ute Cup. Wish I was out there in the Colorado mountains!

Glad to see the top riders riding the Ute Cup. Makes for a good ride with everyone riding the same sections as the Pro`s!

The Utah club is the WTA [Wasatch Trials Association] Look at their Facebook page for contact info. We have had events at ski resorts in the past but a new area would be great.
