October 22, 201510 yr What are the security arrangements (if any) for competitors machines in Kinlochleven? Is there somewhere they can be left overnight securely or is it just down to the individual to sort out at their accommodation? Not having a van I would have to use a trailer and that doesn't leave much in the way of security - for the bike or trailer for that matter! Thanks
October 23, 201510 yr no security no overnight parking arrangements.. ask your BnB if they have something secure..
October 23, 201510 yr Author Mmm, not what I was hoping to hear but probably what I thought would be the case. I suppose hiring a van is another option. Of course this is all theoretical, I'm not holding out much hope of getting an entry!
October 27, 201510 yr Done the trial a few times and was always able to take my bike round the back and chain it to something substantial in the garden. I use a bike rack so the same problem as a trailer, it's always on show. In fact both B&Bs were surprised at my concern but then they don't come from London !
October 27, 201510 yr Author You can never be too careful these days, events like the Pre65 could offer easy pickings for tea leaves, lots of easily stolen bikes and trailers around. I hate leaving my old bikes anywhere.
October 27, 201510 yr What about when you go to look at a section ? The bike will be unattended for probably 15 mins while walking Pipeline for instance.
October 27, 201510 yr Hi Guy's, Just bin watching A clip about George Howard Cole. Then I read this. Minder sprang to mind. Just fit a duel seat and take Dennis with you as security. Make the whole trial more feasible? Regards Charlie.
October 28, 201510 yr Author No way am I walking up pipeline, just go for it and hope for the best! You wouldn't need another seat for Dennis, he'd fit in your pocket according to Little Britain!
