86Tlr200 Aftermarket Kick Starter Pivot

Featured Replies

Hello,

I'm looking for an aftermarket  (stronger) kick starter pivot for a TLR200.  the one i currently have on my bike is aftermarket, it is starting to get worn out, it won't stay in the folded position.  when i bought the bike it had a small box of parts, mostly junk, but in it were two stock pivots and both were cracked.

does anybody know of replacement parts that would be stronger.

Thank you

Brian

Do you have the decompressor fitted and working?

Saves the kick starter and gears.

Hello,

I do not have a decompressor installed.

The standard bikes had an auto system fitted. When you put pressure on the kick start the exhaust valve would be opened.

I use a finger operated lever to do the same. Takes a lot of strain from the starter gears, shaft and kicker.

sorry, i meant I DO have the decompressor installed

I believe it has an adjustable cable. You might see if it is actually working. I have seen the starters get wobbly, but never broke.

the cable is working properly, attached is a picture of the broken part.

i would like to get a new (better) part, if im going to replace this one, rather go with a stock part.

Is there a kick start stop that could be bent up causing this. I seem to remember an odd piece fitted around the frame foot peg location on the USA model.
