Ossa Mar Exhaust Paint

Featured Replies

Hi, Does anyone have a recomendation for Black Exhaust paint for the middle box and silencer on a MAR, most of the exhausts paints seem to be Matt and I was trying to match the original gloss

Hammerite, Plasti-Kote, Halfords......

B&Q, Homebase etc, they all sell gloss barbecue paint.

It is heat resistant, unlike hammerite, and doesnt peel or give off a bad odour when first used.

BBQ all the way.

Hope this helps!

I didn't suggest using 'ordinary' Hammerite.... although this stuff is matt finish.

I had mine powder coated Matt black and am very impressed with the results. Although I haven't run it yet ?

I know a chap who had his Suzuki race bike expansion chambers done in gloss black powder coating, it looked great, didn't bubble or deteriorate.

It cocked his carburation up though as it messed with the acoustics/resonance. Shouldn't be too much of a problem with a relatively low revving trials bike engine without expansion chambers.

If it helps, can of spray paint £5- , see how it looks, if not happy then go for the powder coated option

Plastic Kota is the best by fare get the B/Q stuff nice finish not Mat or gloss it leaves a sheen on it looks factory fresh. Just done 3 Exhausts in it.
