March 6, 20179 yr This may seem a silly question to you engineering and welding 'bods' out there, but I'm trying to minimise work and potential damage. I usually have the footpegs changed when the bikes in bits , but this time I'm short of time and I'm going to take the complete bike in to have the later wider pegs welded on. The question is, do I need to take the stator plate and coil off to prevent damage to the electrical circuit during the welding process , may be different if I had electronic ignition, but this is coil and points. Thanks guys.
March 6, 20179 yr I am not that great with electronics, but I have electric arc welded footpeg mounts on many Bultacos, with the points ignition system intact, and have never had a problem.
March 7, 20179 yr My mate did mine just undid the HT CAP And it as electronic ignition it and its fine.. you just have to brake the circuit over wise it will damage it Edited March 7, 20179 yr by bondy
