January 24, 20188 yr I am looking to get my daughter a 125 to start trials on , Ive seen a 2004 Sherco125 I local to me, are they any good? Do they have any specific issues other than the usual things to check, many thanks Steve Edited January 24, 20188 yr by steveevo71
January 24, 20188 yr That vintage Sherco 125 is a little down on power compared to a newer 125's But probably a fine bike to start on. Airbox/fender fit can be a problem, as airbox can deform a bit.
January 24, 20188 yr Watch the side bearings in them, the side bearings went on me which resulted in piston slap but still ran well.
January 24, 20188 yr Author It will probably be better to be down on power for a complete beginner.....

When the bearings went it had piston slap afterwards. But i still rode it with the piston slap, I was going to get the engine fixed but changed it to a 2011 sherco.
