December 30, 200520 yr 05 290 - Is the connection between the exhaust and the cylinder supposed to be completely flush? The allen screws don't go in all the way on my new (used) bike, leaving a gap of about 0.5-1cm betwen the end of the exhaust and the cylinder, so just wondering if this is by design or not. December 30, 200520 yr Author Cheers Big John. The flange is at the same angle at both ends, and it doesn't sound like there are any gases escaping at all, so I am sure it is OK. Just wanted a bit of reassurance!
December 30, 200520 yr This would be a great time to remove the exhaust header bolts and apply a coat of anti-sieze to them. It would be a good idea to apply anti-sieze to all of the bolts that screw into aluminum. Wayne
