January 26, 200422 yr Has anybody any experience of tyre sliding of rim (Triumph Cub) normal 18" wheel new tyre 2 tyre clamps tube type tyre and rim HELP Vinnie Edited January 26, 200422 yr by Vinnied
January 26, 200422 yr Good to know your Cub has enough cojones to spin the tire! Back in the bad old days, we used to drill holes in the side of the rim and run sheetmetal screws right into the bead of the tire. Looks cool, too!
January 27, 200422 yr Author Yes i remember that, i used do that to my old bultaco and montesa they seemed to have a larger side to the rim vinnie
January 28, 200422 yr I get the same trouble with my tubed tyres, was told to deflate, clear out resedue, dry and pump back upto around 20psi so that the tyre re-seats itself properly, so far so good. Got my first trial this week-end since last time it slipped, so i'll let you know if it happens again. Gaff.
