October 28, 20187 yr I have a 2011 125 with a blown engine I have been offered an older 290 engine in good condition the one with 290 on engine cover. Will it fit ?????
October 30, 20187 yr I do not think so, as there are a lot of subtle changes. Go ahead and try so you can tell us!
October 30, 20187 yr Pretty sure the position of the motor mounting bolts and swing arm pivot points are the same but the head support bracket may need to be customized as 125 and 270 barrels may be different height. Other than that , as cope mentioned there my be other issues...coolant hose routing , etc, 2011 was new style h20 pump if remember correctly...post some pics etc of your build for us
