December 4, 20187 yr On another site someone has done some research and posted that numbers 525-000102 to 525-002751 are for 1975 models and 525-100107 to 525-102650 is for 1976 models. Can anyone confirm that this is correct?

Can anyone confirm that this is correct? I can confirm that there were more than 2649 B models (1975 525 model) made (because I own 525 - 003013) and there would have been way more than 2543 C models (1976 525 model) made. I suspect that those numbers you have quoted may have been the serial numbers for bikes sent to one region of the world, rather than world-wide totals
December 5, 20187 yr That site is accurate enough that DVLA accept it as a source for dating old TYs before registering them for the road The serial numbers are a little confusing in places as they sold the 125 in some places and the 175 in others, but with similar numbers ... still, it's all in the chart!
