TY 80 final End drive oil seal

Featured Replies

Hello can any 1 tell me if the TY80 final End drive oil seal behind the front sprocket can be changed without splitting the engine? cheers

Yes fairly certain Mr Yamaha wouldn’t make it that difficult. No need to split the cases, this is a seal that has to take punishment so just like the other TY models its a gentle lever out or use various methods like self tappers and grips but usually just a simple appropriate sized lever will flick it out. Lay the bike over so aa to keep the oil in the box if you are not draining out. Plenty of grease around the new seal lip and I believe that the sleeve that the seal rubs against comes out too so give it a good clean and grease.??

Nice 1 I wasn't sure I normally do bultaco and there the same the seal just pops out I normally use a blunt rounded leaver to tap 1 side and the other pops out I then flick it out with a small flat driver cheers for the replay
