Ty175 Gear Problems

Featured Replies

hi everyone i can only get 1st and nuteral gear does anyone share this problem or anything simaller and does anyone know how to sort it out

thanks in advance

Not really helpful lol

Maybe check, strip down the gearbox? if youve got a workshop manual then you will be able to find out how to do it in there

My friend had one we took it out and could never get it out of 1st gear for some reason like it was stuck or there were no more gears to go in ?

I thought maybe new plates ?

New plates I'd say.. But I'm no pro. I think if it isn't shifting up into other gears, something is binding for sure. New plates, or another transmission I'd think

you should just buy my ty175 off me, runs like new, it looks good too.

If it won't shift with engine off, it's not your clutch.

Pull the left cover off, and make sure the whole area is cleaned out. If nothing is binding the shifter, you'll need to pull the clutch side off fo check the finger that moves the shifter drum. If the spring breaks, it won't grab the shifter drum. Rotate the drum manually a bit at a time and see if the the transm works. Beyond that, you need a manual and some tools.
