April 7, 20206 yr Hi All, Can a spilt in the outer [foral] be repaired and can I change outers so that the repaired fork can be put on the spring side only side and use the better outer for the damping side? Thanks P.S. I have seen some reference to conventional fork conversions. Is this hassle free or do brakes, wheels [and obviously triple clamps] need changing? Edited April 7, 20206 yr by reginald
April 7, 20206 yr Hi Mark. Any good TIG welder should be able to weld that fork up with no hassles. I don`t know if you can swap the sides without any problems though. Someone on here must know though. Graham.
April 8, 20206 yr I would machine the top off and sweat on a new piece. The forks aren't brilliant any way so I fitted conventional ones by making four adapters for the yolks, can't remember if I used the original caliper but certainly the front wheel
