March 30, 20224 yr Hi everyone, nice to meet you all. I have finally bitten the bullet after many years of daydreaming and purchased a good 1998 GasGas TX125 CONTACT from a friend. He stopped riding it beasuse of Parkinsons problems. These machines are totally different from the old twin shock TY174 and 250 I used to ride. Does anyone know what the best oil is for this engine? There`s so much conflicting advice floasting around and I can`t seem to find the right answer. My friend just used to get someone else to service it and has no clue what oil was used. March 30, 20224 yr There's "so much conflicting advice" because any of the leading products will do a good job for you. Follow manufacturer's advice on grade of oil, pick a brand you like, and that's all there is to it.
