Oset Charger - 3rd Pin

Can anyone shed some light on what the 3rd pin on the Oset charger does.  I see there is no voltage on the charger when unplugged but once plugged in, there must be some comms over that 3rd pin that enables the charger output.

 

Any ideas?

    Did you find the answer ? I'm also interested as I created a LifePo4 battery and would like to charge it directly with the original plug (that i'll put in the new charger).
