March 27, 20242 yr Hi Guys, I am starting the rebuild of a 1983 Honda Cl250s ( silk road), and just wondered if anyone out there has had one or still has one. I need to ask a couple of technical questions if possible. Many Thanks Gordon
July 30, 20242 yr If it's a CL250S it's not a "Silk road". The CL wasn't named. The earlier CT250S is the "Silk road", but the two are almost identical; it's virtually only the seat which is different. The CT has a single seat and a large rear rack, while the CL has a dual seat. Anyway, I have a CL, my second one, as my first one was stolen over 40 years ago. I'm open to any reasonable questions.
July 30, 20242 yr Looking at the photo's, (the blue bike) that's a CT250S "Silk road", not the later CL250S. Almost all parts are common between the 2 models. The basic engine is shared with the CB250RS road bike, but the gearing and the tuning are different.
