May 3, 200620 yr I'd like to get an EZ Up shelter. Goal is sun and rain protection. Generally don't have a lot of wind where we are. One version is EZ Up Encore II, but sold only through SamsClub. Seems pretty light duty, but has walls, about $210. I' d like something better if possible, but not spend a lot more money. Dome II has sloping legs for more horizontal stability. Express II is more in normal EZ Up line of products. Enterprise II is higher quality, but more money than I think I can spend. I can't find a local dealer to see any of these. All of them walls are spendy. the blue tarp route may have to work, but I'd like to get a good base unit to start with. Anyone have expereience with any of these models? Comments please. kcj minnesota
May 3, 200620 yr Wallmart sells an ezup knockoff called the "first up!" The unit goes up faster than the EZ-UP but is a little harder to take down but not much. It runs about $100 bucks for the 10x10. Good luck
May 3, 200620 yr Get yourself a deal on a real EZ-UP on ebay..Got mine for about half the price..The wal-mart model, the cover has to come on & off with each use..
May 3, 200620 yr got my ezup about 10 years ago the 10x20 with walls for a fortune used to do race service and lived under that roof 35-40 weekends a year once a storm tore it of its anchers and blow it over my van, had to remove 2 of the legs to fold it up, chopped the bent parts, welded some and was ready to go again some other time a storm tore the top off and I had to do some sewing it stayed when we moved to the states, now a friend uses it and it still works a smooth as ever I saw a lot of cheap knock offs get torn to shreds, bent, taken down just in time for the storm ... they never lasted
May 3, 200620 yr You can go directly to EZups web site and sometimes they have a lower price on some units that are a over run of funny colors or somthing. Check out there larger units, like 10 by 20's.
May 11, 200620 yr Author I considered the 10x20, would make a nice space to work and useful around home. The bulk and weight wre too much for what I needt to travel with. Compared HD, REI, and I think sears? ended up buying the SamsClub cheap line but EZUp brand, the $210 with tyvek walls. Have not set it up yet, nothing to report. tks to all for the comments and info kcj
