i have been looking at a 03 290 (03 on rear mudguard). is there a way of checking year from the frame number and i would appreciate any information on any trouble spots or items to look out for on this model. i have not owned a sherco before. how does it compare with the gas gas? i am a novice thanks

    <_< i prefer gas gas pros, had an 02 200 sherco, and now got an 05 290 and hate it! look for main bearing rattle leaking tanks, the o3 has a black cylinder head and clutch casing if am correct. the thing i dont like about shercos is the fork angle, ride of them, and down think they as smooth as a gas gas and not as reliable. but theres plenty people out there who swear by em. :beer:
