  1. charlie, many thanks for that, seem perfect. Mark
  2. otf sorry cocked that up it is an 18 saw your build on the otter site, nice job
  3. latest update, so now I've got the slots for the spindles sorted out (the previous owner had welded on narrower ones) I've got a 20 inch tiger cub rear wheel ready for 4 inch tyre, but I need to alter the torsion/ anti rotation bar to get it to fit. On the fantastic otter site one of the builders mentioned that he bought a 'proper' one. Anyone know of who fabricates/ sells them? also I assume I'll have to drill the old one out.
  4. Apologies if I seem to have hi jacked this forum, I've just offered up the Bantam hub to the c15 rear swinging arm, to find the spindle on the hub is too big to go through the slot. do 1 a) machine the spindle smaller grind the slot wider c) none of the above (suggestions welcome)
  5. Thanks for the info guys, you've both been a great help.
  6. any idea what these front forks / hub are off
  7. Sorry for the lateness of this response Wallo, I haven't got a clue what's in the gearbox yet. By way of background , the guy I bought the bike from had owned it for 3 years (with the intention of restoring it), but hadn't done anything to it due to other projects. He bought it from the estate of the guy who'd taken it off the road, done some stuff to it, then popped his clogs taking it's secrets with him. Although I've ridden bikes for 40 years, this is my first Brit bike and first trials as well (it's very different to my old ZZR 1400 lol). Currently I'm trying to determine what I've got (see next post) and where to go with it. So now I've got a bantam rear hub, what sort of fettling does it require to fit to the C15, and what is the best size rear wheel to fit. Currently the back wheel is 4 00 17, but I've picked up that running a 4in rear can cause problems with the chain line .
  8. Thanks for that info, trying to sort out where they were going with the mods
  9. Cheers old trials, I've actually just bought a bantam rear wheel. Mark
  10. Hi all, Having moved to the country and wanting to get back on 2 wheels, I've bought a BSA C15 and#39;trial' project see pic 1. it's not complete and in buying a job lot of parts I now also have a spare frame see pic 2. It's a 1960 c15 frame but has been modded to take what i think is a bantam tank pics 3 & 4 Has anyone seen a frame like this/ know anything about it?
  11. I've just bought a c15 project trials bike. How do people get around the all in one brake drum/sprocket. On of the previous owners seems to have welded a sprocket onto the drum. not sure how effective this will be.
  12. Hi all, new to this site, having a) just retired and just bought a 1961 BSA C15 trial project. a few bits are missing, and I'm trying to get my head around what's already been done and the variants of not only stock bikes but also the trials mods . Having ridden since the age of 14, when I used to ride across fields on a NSU moped, I'm hoping to have a go at pre 65 trials (that's if I can get the bike running before I'm 65 lol). Last bike ZZR1400R so now taking life at a gentler pace.
