Anyone got or riding a 4t sherco, Do you ever use the choke ? Mine seems to start first or second kick without it from dead cold,on the couple of occasions i have used it it flooded. turned it off and a couple of kicks and it fires up no problem ? Is this because the weather is warm ? When it is running it seems fine and just keps getting better

Just curious back a few years ago it was mandated all bikes were going to have to be 4 stroke then the manufacturers got around it and 2 strokes survived but Honda has remained 4 stroke on the world level is that the only 4 stroke to competing now? I also noticed Honda advertises their new production model has a motor revamped to ride like a 2 stroke instead of offering a new 2 stroke engine. So i am wondering is the ruling 2 stroke is ok only temporary?

I m not sure that this would be the ultimate factor that would sway me to one bike or another but in my last thread this has spiked some different opinions. to me personally, my GG250 6th gear is nothing short of useless, and kind of annoys me that adding that 6th gear the shifting from 4th to 5th becomes a clunk. Does anyone knows which manufactures do 6? and which do 5? whats the advantages and disadvantages on real world application. I also heard of a certain Italian bike which some owners claim the 1st gear for that specific bike is pretty useless in a sense no one ever rides on it.

Hi, I´m looking at a Sherco 250 2003 model and thinking about buying it. I have heard much good about it, so I dont have many doubts. The only thing that I noticed is that the Sherco bikes has 5-Speed Gearboxes, I have only driven Beta´s in the past, and those were all 6-Speed. Is that a problem, and am I going to note a big difference? How are the Sherco´s in general, compared to Beta and Gas Gas? (250´s) Thanks, Paul

I'm thinking about getting something for some LDTs and a bit of green laning (and quite possibly entering a Hare and Hounds as some sort of moving roadblock!), and was thinking about a Beta Alp. I like the e-start too! I've never tried one for size though. Is it a practical proposition? Other possibilities on my list at the moment are XR250 or possibly DRZ400, but I'm open to other suggestions. What do you reckon?

The wheels on my bike are 650B wheel. But I have to wonder — just saying. Is there a difference between the way 650B wheels and 650C wheels ? Would going from 650B to 650C somewhat increase the top tube and bottom bracket heights?

I'll soon be 71years young and enjoying trials practice with a great bunch of riders on my 250cc trials bike I still get a buzz climbing steep gradients and tight turns over logs etc. but starting to need something much lighter and easier to kick start. I've considered a 125 but they don't feel much lighter than a 250 indeed a lot of the cycle parts are the same. So what are your thoughts of a 5ft 9inch 12stone 71 year young having fun on modern 80cc big wheel .

Hi all iv been watching alot of the 80,s 90,s and 00,s World trials videos over the past few weeks as i injured my shoulder mountain bikeing. And obviously now I want another trials bike to injur my other shoulder on lol, looking at what alot of the 90,s bikes are capable of how much better realy is say a 2009 evo or rev3 over a 1999 techno, especially from a novices point of view. Obviously if your splatting 6ft rock faces I'd imagine the slight weight reduction will help, but from a middle of the road novice point of view? , Iv had a few bikes sherco betas gasgas all old ish early to mid 00,s versions iv got a budget of around 1500-2000 but thinking shall I go the othe…

What is the verdict on the best castor oil? Forget cost and avilability, we are talking clean running oil (if your jettings on the money) with the best smell. Sad I know but as my riding is guff my bike might as well stun me with a gorgeous smell. I've used A747 with no complaints but I read plenty about Maxima 927. Any good?

Hi everyone just hoping for a little advice, i am a total newbie at 43 to trials riding and bikes in general. 3 weeks ago i picked up an 95 250 beta techno to learn/play on for £600. condition ok but clutch is dragging and can't get neutral, plus fork seals gone. Can sort these issues i think but have just been offered an 04 290 sherco that is in great condition from a source i trust for £900. i wondering if i should switch to the sherco and put Beta back on e bay or spend the time / money on the techno? Any ideas ? What bike is ultimately going to be less hassle reliability wise and which is the better learner bike? Many thanks in advance for any guidance . All the best M…
