I watched the Time Warp episode of bike trials tonight and thought it was really good. So I went to the Discovery.com/Timewarp posting board and suggested Motorcycle Observed Trials. Link http://community.discovery.com/eve/forums/a/frm/f/9931905079 Please take a look, post in support if you like. Maybe we can get some more exposure for the sport on television. (Could really use some here in the States)

I'd just like to say thank you to Ryan and his team for their excellent service. I ordered some parts from his website Ryan Young Website and for various reasons, including a slightly over zealous bank thinking my card had been stolen and cancelling the whole thing, the order turned into a bit of a mare, with several mind changes on my part. Ryan and his team gave me excellent customer service, patiently exchanging emails, sending me photographs and offering advice. I must have driven him mad, which was not my intention. So i would thoroughly recommend Mr Young and his team and say thanks again for bearing with me.

As there's been a few 'what tyre?' topics recently and a suggestion for a poll and the fact I'm bored on nightshift, here goes.............. Let me know if you think something should be added/deleted (Can't add any more brands - only ten choices but I think I've covered the most of them?) I personally like Michelins so you know where I've voted, they're a bit of a pain to bead in but that's another topic........ Enjoy GJ

Hi all Did my first trial yesterday with the Waltham Chase club, the day started of with some training but sadly i'm useless with names so couldn't tell you his name Steve something, & I can only remember his first name as it's the same as mine !! Learn't so much, I didn't realise just how much fun it would be, I felt aprehensive on the way but for no reason as it turned out to be a great day, after some grub and a much needed rest it was time for my first attempt at doing it for real. Did the yellow route which was challenging enough, but blinking good fun, couple of feet down but hey it was my 1st time and I loved it Got home very tired and looking forward to …

Now before I start I this is not critical of the riders or the club, but as reported the Bullock brothers were not able to ride because the entries were closed? Shirty's point is valid in the troubled times of BTC competition you would have thought the effort put in by the club to run the event they would want as many riders as possible? On the flip side I can support the club in their decision to not accept the riders as stated they missed the closing date? Both arguements are valid, but which is right? Some trials have to have closing dates the SSDT and Scott to name but 2 as they are over subscribed and have to go to ballot? some clubs would accept a late entry, but…

Hi I used to have IRC tyres on my trials bike but changed to Michelin x11s when the time came for new ones. Now I have a new bike with Michelin on & the time is coming for a new set of tyres & I must say I liked the IRCs more. I heard that IRC tyres had developed a problem though & they were popping of the rims. is this still the case or have they got over the problem?

Should the tops of the forks be flush with the top triple clamp, or should the forks come out a bit, maybe a quarter inch or so?

anyone any experience of using any of these to secure a trial or trials bikes. mainly thinking in the long term in regards to taking bike or bikes to france next summer I know moto cinch the guy passed away who invented it. but as I travel exclusively to france via Belgium overnighter from hull down to burgundy twice a year which can take take 10 hours + with stops I don't want to be stoping checking straps every 25 miles and those of you who have travelled the outer ring roads of paris would tend to agree. was wondering if anyone had used the risk racing set up to transport bikes long distances IE trials bikes.

As title. Why on earth don't Ohlins make forks for trials bikes? Maybe it's just me but in a world where new markets are difficult to find for products there's one staring them in the face!! Gold forks anyone? Yep...love gold forks. Imagine they would work pretty well too! I think the 4RT clamps are 39mm, Which is an odd size. Can't see that the do any to suit.

Hi I have just got a ty 250 that needs a bit of TLC. Engine gearbox clutch all good, Frame wants just a good clean but the wheels , hubs , and forks need a bit of work to make them look nice again it's a1976 V5 matching numbers and original in all ways apart from oil tank removed , its identical to the bike I brought new In 1976 and rode in the SSDT, What is the rough cost of re spoking the front & rear wheels or do people clean them up a bit rusty Thanks all.

Today I took part in my first ever trial (along with my son who is 8) The trial was run by Leamington Victory Motorcycle Club at Victory fields Warwickshire (which rather conveniently is just down the road from my house) We were both made to feel very welcome and had a great day, my son even managed to clear the first section (and I didn't) !! From today I have learnt .... tyre presssures really matter in this game ... and gear selection (it was wet muddy and very slippy) Looking forward to the next one now.

Ok I know Premix oil preference and ratio could be just like favorite colors, in any crowd, but I really would like to know what you all think is good. About the gas, I am able to buy from our local (auto) racing supply/engine builders, sunoco brand racing fuels. I mix this higher octane (I believe it is 106) 50/50 with regular pump gas (it is the only-non alcohol readily available and its octane is 85-86). The race fuel supplier, he has only 3 octane levels, that alcohol is NOT used in, but all of them have lead (if I recall the conversation correctly). Does this matter? I do buy the cheaper lower octane version, at about 5 bucks a gallon. For 8-10 bucks a gall…

Looking for a good powerful helmet light for use at night. I have seen one called a CYCLOPS helmet light that is either battery powered or can run off the stator. Anyone heard of these lights or use one for a bit of scary nightime trialling? Apparently they are imported from the USA and are mainly used by crossers and Quadbikers etc. Or does anyone use any other auxiliary lighting other than the headlight that is on the bike?
