Anyone know where I can get a rear fender for my gas gas txt 270 1999 I’ve looked everywhere can’t find nothing

Hello...I've had a couple Gas Gas bikes...mostly older, my abilities are growing and I just sold my 06 Raga 300. I've found, not anywhere close to me, a couple bikes...one a 2012 txt 300 pro which is in the price range (3's) but a literal day drive away...then a 2019 Gas Gas 300txt racing...which is close to 2k more in asking price and in the 5's. My question is this....for a bike I want to ride and grow with is the minty 2019 THAT much better than the really really nice shape 2012 as far as performance and bike for the money. Me again guys. I'm after removing the swingarm off my 2001 Gasser. Anyone know what size the nut is that holds the swingarm spindle in? Looks like 22mm but my 22mm sockets won't go in the hole. Cheers in advance. Dave.

Hi. Have ridden off road for years but never had trials bikes before. Bought an old 05 GG 300 txt pro which needed a bit of tlc to have a play about on. Only been out once on it and it popped the thermostat out along with all its coolant. Gear oil was milky too so replaced waterpump and put fresh fluids in. Need advice as it still seems to be overheating. Fan appears to come on and run as it should, then after pottering about for 5-10 mins it starts to steam and spit coolant out of the breather pipe. All hoses are hot so pretty sure circulation is OK. Don't know if it's relevant but I'm pretty sure the bike has a 280 top end not a 300. And ha…

Hello, I’m just looking for some direction if anyone can help. I’ve had bikes all my life, I’m 53 now and looking to get into trials. I had a TY175 many moons ago but have never ridden competitively. My only recent trials riding experience was at a ‘trials experience’ day in Wales recently where was given a competition spec (apparently) Gas Gas 300 to play with and it was far too much for me! I eventually launched it through a fence after accidentally grabbing the throttle over a log……! Clearly something lower powered would be in order for now… So I’m torn between buying a lower powered older ‘modern’ bike or an even older twin shock, the modern bike seemin…

Just about to start rebuilding my 2001 GasGas TXT 249. It has been sat in a shed for 10 years so need quite a bit of work. First job is going to be the brakes. Both calipers are Hebo and sticking so not working right. I believe that neither the caliper of the repair kits are available. Any solutions? Cheers. Dave.

Might have been covered elsewhere but just in case. I read a piece in The Times today about standard petrol in the UK getting watered down (obviously not with water…) from September this year. What the article said was that cars over 10 years old might suffer (sorry have binned the paper so ‘suffer’ will have to do for now!!) and you’ll have to use premium petrol. I’ve always used cooking petrol in both my old (seventies) twin shocks and modern bikes. Is it OK just to switch to the higher grade petrol? Any change to twinshock premix required? Thanks for any advice!

Silly question but humour me; The 2013 Sherco ST I bought earlier this year has always suffered from clutch drag-terrible when cold, just annoying when warm. Last weekend I bled the clutch and changed the gearbox oil- 450ml Putoline light gear oil. Just started the bike and wobbled around the garden, and it's worse than before. I'm thinking maybe it wasn't absolutely empty and so now it's slightly overfilled?

Hi all, I have ridden my 2020 GasGas 280 for about 50 hours and the rear brake became less effective with squeaking noise. The brake pads seem to have life left. I would appreciate your thought about it. Should I change the pads? Or brake fluid? Or clean the surface of the pads and disc? thanks,

Have had a sabbatical of some 8 years and decided to get a bike. Managed to get an nearly new evo and have had to get a whole load of new gear. So look a bit “all the gear and no idea”. Looking forward to getting back out having joined at the Earl Shilton club!

Hi all, I have been practicing skills for controlled wheelie for many months with my GasGas TXT and developed two types of the approaches; 1: Gas and clutch meet simultaneously. With a body action, I can lift the front wheel 2: Rev the engine first (flywheel preload?). Closing the gas and clutch meet simultaneously. #2 is more difficult because of more things to control; the amount of rev and the timing of the clutch meet, which have to get synchronized with the body action. I can get a good result only once in three or four tries. However, once the wheel is up, I feel it's more controllable. In the #1 approach, the front wheel rises with acceler…

Hello to all. Looking at gas gas txt 250-280-300 cc bikes. On one site it was said these engines comply with euro - 5 standards. Does this mean they are jetted lean ? And or do they have a cataltic converter hidden in the exhaust system ? Also, anyone know what brand of rear shock is on 2021 Bets 300 ss ? rebuildable ? I have asked dealer when the 2022 Beta trials bikes will be shipped to America-- no one has any idea here--- Pardon the spelling mistakes--

To save me reinventing the wheel, has anyone seen a guide on making your own universal trials seat? (like the Apico ones) If not I'll knock something together, but I can envisage lots of trial and error (pun intended), I've seen a couple of local riders who made their own but of course I haven't had a chance to engage them in conversation 😕

Hi Guys, I have just replaced an old wheel on one of my bikes with a brand new one, as the old one was going rusty on the rim and spokes. Would there be any problem with painting the new wheel with Clear Coat Spray, so that it would last longer (over 30 years) than the previous wheel..? I have used this petrol proof spray on freshly painted fuel tanks, and it has given good results. .
