Two barmy smoggies, me and the Cota Kid are off to support Dougie and the Brit boys in Spain in the Spanish Outdoor round. Travelling first class, of course, we are hoping to hire a local means of transport (donkeys not included) and high tail it to the nearest hostel. If any one else is travelling from London Stanstead on the 31st March, they are welcolm to hitch a ride and enjoy a bit of crack with plenty of San Miguel along the way!!!!! Good luck to the Brit boys, its going to be one hell of a weekend!!!!!

What is the Test and Development Forum as it does not seem to be open to the puplic as such as you need a password, i only ask as there seems to be quite a lot of action going on in there. todate has been 193 topics and 1646 reponses, just being nosey thats all !!

Im fairly new to trials, started in December. On one of my early events, I got penalised with a 5 for rolling backwards on a section. Not very far, maybe 10 or 12 inches. So im rather confused when I watch all the hopping about to see really good riders jumping backwards and even rolling backwards. This morning there was a clip of a rider bouncing his bike around and rolling back into a prime spot pointed out by his minder. Are there different sets of rules for club trials and national events? Im not moaning at all, just confused Cheers all

How do you decoke the cylinder head? Is there a chemical cleaner or do you use a fine wet and dry.Thanks in advance

Anyone had any problems getting bit's from Sammy Miller Products, i ordered 3 pairs of tie downs on the 18th after waiting a week nothing so rang them up to find out if they had been sent, the answer i got was "yes but don't know if they were sent buy post or carrier i will check and ring you back" 20 min's later they called back sorry still don't know can i ring you tomorrow. so next day as i thought no phone call so i was going to leave it untill today before ringing them again but as it happened they turned up, but what got me was it still took them 2 days after phoning to send them cos the invoice was dated yesterday the 30th AND they had them in stock. Many outlets sell helmets but, when it comes to TRIALS, mostly offered are motocross and enduro models. Are there outlets/suppliers that specialize in this product? We have seen limited availability in the U.S. thanks for any help

I was doing some traction tests on my trials bike and MX bike in mud and snow in a simple section in my backyard that has an off camber turn, uphill climb and over a log. It's an easy section when dry. When muddy, however, on my trials bike I'll slip on the turn, have no momentum, and spin on the hill without getting enough speed to get over the log. With my MX bike with knobbys, I can track through the turn, carry momentum, accelerate, spin and grab traction to get enough speed to go up the log. As soon as I hit the log with the knobbys, it will slip because of the hard rubber and often I won't make it over. The solution? A butchered trials tire transformed into the ulti…

Basically im new to trials got myself a 270 beta rev 3 02 and started practising in some wooded areas now with the rain recently ive lost all rear grip in any sort of mud. Thought the tyre was quite worn so have no replaced that (brand new dunlop d803). still getting poor rear grip, i know my technique wont be perfect but have tried exactly the same things on my brother 07 gas gas and have no problem, can ride up banks on one wheel where as i would be stuck at the bottom. as i say im new to this but anything that could be causing a massive loss in rear grip? oh and rear tyre pressures ive tried anything between 3-5.5PSi Thanks Dan

Hello everyone, first post. Have been riding enduro and MX for a good few years and trials bikes are turning my head. Got a nasty injury 2 months ago that required my humerus to be plated. Won't be able to ride MX tracks anytime soon, but will be able to take it easy on a trials bike from August. The appeal of a light weight bike that is easy to load and ride is appealing - my crosser want to rip my arms off. So, what is the noise pollution like from modern trials bikes as I would like to trail ride and use the bike a bit like a MTB with an engine, people just hate noisy bikes and as I want to get to places without people hearing or being offended it is important. I'm looking forward to the Italian feedback on the hop and stop trial. Put your translator on but it looks to me you can stop, back up, even with your foot on the ground. What does anyone think about this mag now 4 mths down the line, compared to TBM's supplement?

I bought a Beta Evo and the points on the pegs are more blunt than any I've ever seen on an off road motorcycle. I feel like they'e been a factor in my foot coming off at least once already. Seems like they could be fixed with some dremel work. Has anyone ever done this? I'm using MX boots right now which are a little smooth in comparison to what I think I see on trials boots, which doesnt help. I should probably just buy new pegs as I think the teeth are aluminum and would get bent even more easily. Also If anyone can recommend inexpensive ones I'd appreciate it.

I found a great deal on a new 2017 Montesa 300RR (already have the identical bike, so just swapping to a new one). The great deal came with one flaw. The tubeless rim hoop on the rear had a couple of spoke tabs that were broken, where it appears the wheel must have been struck. Spokes were all good, hub was good, so just needed a new rim hoop. I tried to buy an entire wheel assembly, but US Honda, Partzilla and others all show the replacement wheel is one backorder, with no estimated date of availability. I was able to find an OEM rim hoop, so ordered and received it. Also bought a truing stand. So tonight, I removed the wheel off the bike, removed the tire. …
