Wanting to paint my front ajp caliper black to make it look like an original grimeca. Given that i always spill brake fluid when bleeding should i worry about the type of paint i use? Rattle can do ok, or should i use 2k? Im thinking high temp matt black may give the most realistic satin look, but worried it will just rub off when i spill brake fluid over it

I've had two used trials bikes and this time I want to start with a new or nearly new bike.. (mainly because why not have some fun) The two used bikes I have had so far were a 2007 Sherco 290, then a 2011 Beta evo 290. Both have been great for the level I was at. I really like the beta and it is still plenty of bike for me, but feel i want something a bit lighter and fresh. I'm leaning towards a new Factory Beta 300 as my first choice.. But also considering a Sherco factory 300 or possibly a Vertigo. I've never had any issues with engine size and for where I ride the power is nice to have on tap.. So think I'm sticking in the 300 range, but could do a 250 …

I tentatively put my 2013 BETA Evo 250 4t up for sale and a mate bought it. I'm giving up enduro so selling my Husky 250tpi 2018. I want to focus more on trials but would like the option to occasionally maybe enter an enduro or do a play day mainly for a ride and the social which is important to me. My bike choices are a MONTESA 4 RT probably a Repsol and perhaps fit a long range kit when needed or this TRS x-track in 250cc, and have a slim tank to fit for the trials. My riding will mainly be trials. I know the play/enduro will be a compromise but my red mist racing days are behind me. I like the 4/ chuggability but the beta 250 4/ was really good but lacked th…

I am trying to compare the needle in the carb to replacements. The marking on the needle is NAPH. Would anyone know what size this is, as the new needles have different codes and there does not appear to be a cross over chart. Many thanks.

I am looking to switch to Trails but living in Tennessee it limits my options to used bikes. I have found some used Gas Gas in Georgia but have been reading they have had issues in 2014 with crank bearings. is this true and should I be looking for Beta,Montesa or other brands? Thanks.

How did people arrive at their current choice of bike or bikes ? I bought my TX300 Aprilia twinshock as there aren't many about. For twinshocks I'm not really that keen, it's more the social side of the event and catching up with old friends. So I try to buy bikes I didnt own at the time like the Aprilia. The TRS I have is my second one, I'd had a few Gas Gas pro's and I still think they are a very good bike but I wanted a change. I've had Betas before and find them difficult to ride, lots of people ride them well so it's not the bike. Tried a 4rt a couple of times but can't ride them, maybe if I stuck with it but I dont want to spend months learning to rid…

Hi all, I'm patinting my front AJP caliper and the bolt.holding the caliper wouldn't come out. I ended up using a blow torch to heat the bolt so the damn thing would come out. In doing so I've blown one of the piston seals. Does anyone know where I can buy an AJP 4 pot piston seal without having to buy a full repair kit? I've been googling 25mm piston seal and I'm not too confident it will be the right seal. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Fully understand that I shouldn't take blow tourches to things lol, my impact driver is in the post.

My lad is desperately after a trials bike toy/replica model that he can actually play with. I have done a bit of googling and had very limited success, I found a thread on here from 2010 that basically said they didn’t exist. Just wondered if anyone knew of any changes in the last 10 years? Thanks Dave

I checked the date stamps on the bike, the bike is a '13 and tyres are 2011 and 2012, I guess they should be replaced with new rubber, although they have virtually no wear, thoughts???

I log on every few days, from time to time and click New topics Nowadays, every post seems about how to fix this bike or that bike, what's wrong with this grub screw etc Nothing about the actual sport of Trials I have noticed this over the past year or so (so don't blame lockdown) When Trials Central first started it was all about Trials riding, comps, views, differing techniques................now it's got boring and just like a Trials bike repair shop Last week I tried to discuss Trials after lockdown, the influence of social distancing at events etc..................what happened? 5 or 6 replies and that was it Does anybody actually compe…

I see that outdoor 'non contact sports' may go head and resume later this month, so that leads us onto the sport we enjoy Apart from section queues, I think some good measure of social distancing, can be achieved and Club and Centre Trials Nationals and bigger events, like Scott and SSDT with large amounts of Spectators may be more tricky Just before lock down I was at the Cleveland National and they had sectioned off and roped off sections, so spectators and riders were 'distanced' Punch cards were abandoned, in favour of marker boards by Observers and 2 Observers per section (not necessary at a Club trial) Practice grounds - I see our local one …

Just a quick question? I have a 99 txt obviously not riding as in lockdown, but giving it a few once overs, start up balance ect in the back garden. Question is, is it recommended to run an inline fuel filter? Just a thought that popped into my head. I was sandifords the other month, and seen them on the counter. I know people who have run filters before on mx bikes and it’s strangled the fuel so they’ve took it off. Just seeing what people recommend, and hope everybody is sticking to the rules. Hard as it is, but be worth it when we’re back out. ??
