Hi everyone, I am very much a newbie at trials riding. I have recently (8 months ago) purchased a GasGas 300 TXT Pro. Great little bike and having loads of fun. Something I am realising though is bike setup and how it makes a difference. With this in mind, I have question though about tyre pressure - does one have to take into account their body weight / height when determining the correct tyre pressure ? regards moasis

G'Day, I put an intro in intro but the trials saga should belong here, hopefully? After 32 yrs my wife wanted to obtain her motorcycle licence! She had tried a go many years ago but got a bit intimidated. I said to her, " you wanna learn balance, clutch, brake, throttle learn on a trials bike, it takes no prisioners!! " She said ok! I started on a quest to find a trials instructor that supplies a bike! We did! He is a past National Champ and State Champ! Of we went to his property and he gave her a 1 hr lesson on a Scorpa 125cc Yammy engined bike. Don't worry the bike is ok!!! I was attempting a big hill (2nd gear) and was doing fine. I had been up this once before and when realising I was not going to get the last almost vertical area I stopped and did a front wheel slide turn with both brakes on, to get bike facing downhill and away I went. This time foot slipped off the rear brake and I started down the hill backwards so I bailed by laying bike over and digging the bars and pegs in. Bike stopped but I fell backwards on to my backside and flared up an old injury to a lumbar vertebrae that is about 15mm plus out of alignment. Hi guys I hope I'm posting in the right forum here. Having ridden mountain bike trials for over 12 years I've just got my first moto trials bike - 2012 Gas Gas TXT 280 Pro Racing. Absolutely loving it so far - real challenge but so much fun. My question is regarding the rear brake. I'm used to hydraulic rim brakes with a grind on my mtb trials bike which are insanely powerful and then hydraulic discs on my downhill bike which are equally powerful but obviously not as grabby. The front brake on my Gas Gas is really sweet, I can easily stoppie or lock up for nice endos etc really happy with it. However the back brake compared to what I'm used to is pretty weak. If I r…

Hi, I have just fitted a Michelin Comp front trials tyre to my AJP Trail bike, for the March Hare event next weekend. I tried 10psi on the first ride and wobbled round the first corner like a wounded buffalo, it was awful. I am now going to try 14psi in the hope that the road manners improve, this seems much to hard for trail use however. Is this handling trait normal with this tyre? Cheers Kev

I did some measurements of rear tyres. Here is the result. Michelin Competition tubed type, used but OK: 5.7kg Michelin X-light new: 5,8kg IRC TR011R tubed type, new: 5,0kg So, X-light isn´t so light....anymore. Carl

Most (if not all) Trial moto bikes have a specific sound. It is a chirping, howling sound. My Friend made these for my Fantic 241 today, getting them tomorrow. One of them is going on the petrol tank so has been laminated to protect the print. These are not vinyl cut but proper decals He can pretty much do anything, so if anyone wanted a custom decal for their bike, let me know. He does quick turn around time too.

I was looking at the entry forms for the Ian Pollok Trial on the Lochaber website & noticed that they are looking for observers. But how do you start? offer to observe at a CtC trial with someone observing you?

Just bought some new boots, what is best way to care for them. Have just been washing them down and leaving to dry - polish or dubbin to be applied?

Is it ok to clean a foam air cleaner with parafin (kerosene)? Or will it melt the glue or the foam? The air filter in the Sherco is in good condition but has a lot of black greasy muck at one end. I don't have any dedicated degreaser for it, and I don't think washing up liquid is going to cut it (at least, not for the first pass). I've never before had an air filter that was this dirty that didn't need replacing anyway!

Just stripped a gas gas txt321 2000, replaced all bearings and general clean up of connectors and make sure every thing works properly. The thing is, I have this sensor bracket left over and haven't a clue where it cam from. I hope some one can help . Thanks

I was wondering what is the best way to clean the filter oil off the airfilter. I see that you can buyan expensive cleaner. Is petrol ok to use or will it cause damage to the foam filter? Thanks.
