I’ve just bought myself a bike after around 25 years out of the sport. While I’m getting the rest of the gear together, I’m just tweaking and setting up the bike. Does anyone have any suggestions on building up the clutch side grip to resemble that of the throttle side so they feel even? I dont have massive hands but find a standard size grip a bit on the small size. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. 👍🏻

I bought what I think is a 2002 Gas Gas TXT 250. I know the year is correct but they also made a TXT 280 Pro in 2002. How do I tell which model I have. Its a fixer upper so got no documentation or and info on it. Thanks for any help.

I am giving the forks on my Merlin a service. The forks are telesco, which I am not familiar with. Does anyone have a tech manual for them? Only one leg has a spring with a pre-tension mechanism. The other seems to house some sort of damping/rebound mechanism, with a 1 to 7 dial. My main question is how much oil in each leg and what grade? What does the 1 to 7 dial do? Chrs Loose Bruce

  5. Hi, I stripped my bike down to inspect the cylinder, had planned to just do a top end rebuild but the cylinder looks quite damaged on the inlet side. Would you leave it or what are my options? Does it need replating? My nail does catch on the marks. Additionally - the crank has some minor pitting. I’ve not done this before so unsure if it’s anything to be concerned about. A more experienced set of eyes would be appreciated! Cheers!

Bought a 2002 gas gas txt 250, tearing it down and putting it back together, pretty much done except to dial in the carb. Does anyone have jetting chart? Most of my riding is 1500-3000ft above sea level. Also looking for an air box. Thanks for the help. ---- Delorto model - PHBL 26

  10. Started by trapezeartist,

I've recently found a problem with lack of braking power on the front of my Electric Motion. First, a little bit of background: I've had the bike for three years and this problem has just started. The front brake is a braktec monobloc. My normal procedure between trials is to abrade both pads and disc with wet'n'dry and clean with brake cleaner. Three trials ago I fitted new Galfer red pads. For the first trial they worked fine. At both of the next two I found that the braking power was very weak. Although it was something I had never done before, and was a bit sceptical about, I rode up and down a bit with the front brake on to heat it up, then sprayed it with water…

  11. Hi, My rear tyre leaks air from between the edge of the rim and the tyre itself (not spokes or valve have confirmed in a tub of water). Ive reseated it twice and tried two tyres (very old Dunlop) and an IRC. is there likely an issue with the rim or is there anything else I can try? It gets worse as the pressure goes down I’m this close to going tubed as I’ve got an old rear wheel that does leak through the spokes and this is stopping me riding. New rims are far too expensive vs the value of the bike. cheers

  12. Hi guys, I would like to buy my first trials bike, but here (in Malta) we are not spoilt for choice, basically there’s 3 second hand trials bikes for sale on the whole island. One is beaten up, the other two are the beta evo 250 factory with 4-5 hours on it (!) practically new, the other one is the trs 300r 2018 model, used by a local competitor guy. I wish I could find a 125/200cc bike to start on, but it’s not an option. the difference between the bikes is the price, the TRS i could buy, the Evo factory is 2500€ more expensive, and that difference I don’t have unless I get a loan. i’m planning to keep the bike long term, would appreciate some i…

Hi Guys, I have a 2023 TRS One RR. On the upper left fork spring preload can be adjusted. What is on the upper right leg, please ? On newer online manuals it is written compression adjustment on older ones rebound? What is on the lower part of the forks? On all manuals it's written that both legs have extension adjustments to be turned 1 turn out from all closed but it seems very odd as one leg has the spring ( left ) and the other ( right ) the oil ( correct me if I'm wrong ). Thanks, Kasty

  16. Following on from my other Beta thread... can anyone comment on what the Beta 4t Evos are like? Are the 300's a mellow well handling bike? And how do they stack up against the 4RT? I've had a slight hankering for a 4RT and like the idea of a 4 stroke generally but whenever I mention I usually get told that it will be no good in the mud (we get LOTS of that where I am) and that 'Ill get fed up with the weight of it. Not so worried about the weight, it would be lighter than my Fantic, I'm sure! But after enjoying my TRS and previously my Gas Gas (which I loved) I'd be a bit concerned about buying something thats going to be a pig to ride then regretting it, just b…

  17. Started by NoTraction,

Just wondering… What’s the big deal with Beta Evo 250’s? I’ve gone through a few bikes in recent years and am currently just riding my Twinshock, I don’t have a modern bike right now. Modern bikes, I’ve had a Beta Evo 200, Gas Gas 250, TRS 250RR, all only a couple of years old, all with bits I liked, bits I didn’t. I’m quite happy riding twinshock for the most part but might buy another modern for using when appropriate. One thing, it was not uncommon to be asked ‘why didn’t you buy a Beta?’, as if it’s the obvious choice. When I had my 200 I found the clutch needed messing around with constantly to stop it sticking and I preferred the handling on the Gas Gas. …

hey guys, is the idle gear for a evo 4t 2009 different to a 2t. im trying to locate one if anyone knows any for sale..its for my 300 4t

  19. Started by NoTraction,

This might be an odd question to ask but there’s a reason… I bought a Fantic 200 last year (been riding modern bikes for a while) and it’s a cracking bike to ride, and always puts a smile on my face. The only thing is that at my level it doesn’t really fit anywhere in the local trials I ride. I ride Sportsman and easier Clubman/middle routes on the modern bike. I also have friends who ride pre 65 bikes. Where I’m coming from is that there isn’t really a class I can ride in competitively at my level as Twinshock class always seems to follow the Middle/Clubman route which is often beyond me on a modern bike let alone the Fantic whereas pre 65 always has an ‘easy’ …

  20. Started by KASTY,

Good Day all, At the end of March I bought a TRS One RR 300 cc - 2023 new. I got a very good deal and visually it looks very well finished compared to the Vertigo ( Finish close to the GasGas ). I did not ride it yet as I am abroad fro business. Will be back this week and hopefully ride it in the week end. What are your thoughts / experiences on this bike, please? Thanks! Kasty
