Hi guys New to forum but not to offroad motorcycle sport, it all stared back in the 70s when i rode schoolboy trials as a member of Witley MCC and Surrey schoolboys . I competed for about six years into my early twentys. It was the mid 90s when i got back into the offroad scene and started rideing Enduros ,hare and hounds ect. I have just sold my enduro bike and i'm now looking to buy Twinshock trials bike to restore and compete on. Regards Phil Photo ;Me on my dads ty175

  4. Started by stealth,

Thought I better say hello as am new to this. I'm not new to trials but have been away from it for a long time, far too long as it goes. My last trial was in 1991, I don't know why I gave up really but have long been hankering to get back to it and when the chance to re-aquire my old Armstrong came up I couldn't resist so here I am. Anyway I hope to get back out there as soon as I can, hopefully without making too much of a fool of myself.

  5. Hi all, Lifetime biker but not ridden trials for quite a while. In the process of rebuilding my Fantic 303 which has sat in my shed unloved for a few years. Is Bill Pye still trading - can only see Bob Wright when I Google Fantic parts ?

Hi I am looking to get a trials bike and have seen a 2000 Sherco 250 at 1100 quid. Seemd OK bar a few scuffs on the plastics small mark on one fork stanchion. Is registered (aug 2000) and seems OK. Guy says never trialed and gas been used for fun only. Is this a reasonable price? Should I buy a GG or Montesa? My budget is 1100 quid but could stretch to 1200 - need to buy one which doesnt need spending on. I am in Warrington Cheshire have a couple of mates who have just bought Trials bikes and looking to get out soon once I got a bike So any advice on great places to practice would be welcome. I will keep an eye on the forum and get familiar with what its …

Hi all, I'm new to the trials thing. Had a bike for a year or so, but rode it on and off like an enduro bike all over the place. 3 Weeks ago I was entered into a club ride by a mate of mine who converted from MX, and after that I was hooked!! :-) So now, I have to learn from scratch. Balancing, figure 8's etc etc. It's awesome fun, and the trials riders that I met so far are n great bunch of people...

Alright all, thought I would pop in and say hello. From Halifax, have a couple of triallies and some others, a scorpa 250 from the late 90's (I think!), and a montesa cota 349. On the road I have suzuki SV650, GSXR750, Yam RD400, cagiva planet. I need a bigger garage TBH! I will be looking to turn up at some meets (when my bikes are in reasonable health!), but I have the slight hindrance of no cage license. So am limited to local stuff... Cheers Chris

Hey y'all. Newbie here and complete pleb. I've been building and evolving a Honda 125 for a year now, not for competition but for getting quietly and carefully around various farms and landscapes. As a solo it's more than proved itself, but a small chair came along and I'm here to look for advice. Atb Erskine

Hi there everyone, just got into trials. I have a bit of land to practice on,as I'm a totall novice that's fun at the moment plus also got a few bits to ride over etc. Looking at getting one of the training DVDs soon to make sure I'm using the correct techniques. I have only recently moved to the kings Lynn area so just wondering if anyone knows of clubs or places to ride in the area? Would be good to get out and ride some new places instead of the garden! Look forward to chatting to everyone

Hello to all my fellow Trial riders. My name is Max I'm French and I have been riding Trial for about 15 years now. I'm 25 so that's quite a big chink of my life already I've been riding GasGas for a seriously long time, and I recently bought a 2012 Ossa 28TRi (Press Test bike) and I have nothing but positive things to say about it. Apart from some minor inconvenience... The more I ride the bike, the more I know it, and the more I am amazed by its potential (giving the right settings and all) My job moved me to Germany one and a half year ago, and I've been lucky enough to find some great Trial riders here (Augsburg) and I have been able to continue riding here ever…

Hello all, After more than 40 years of street riding, 10 years of road racing and 20 years of riding dirtbikes I finally bought a Trials bike. Non of my previous experience seems to add up to a hill of beans when it comes to the Trials Bike I'm sure the Trials bike will greatly enhance all my other forms of riding. I have only had it out a few times, mostly trail riding, and look forward to getting involved more with the sport.

It occurred to me the other day that I still had my old TY175 safely tucked away in my Grans barn. Not yet seen it's current state as i am serving in Germany, but it is unused since before I left school over 15 years ago and joined the Army! So it looks like I have a good summer project on my hands, that me and my little boy can get stuck into that'll hopefully make him catch the bug. He's already got his eye on an Oset, much to the disapproval of the missus! Anyway, hopefully you guys can help me out with some tips when I start stripping the bike down and getting my hands dirty. Cheers, Andy.

Hello all I have just joined I have just acquired an Ariel 350 single 1939-45 prefix number RBH which I believe was a Royal Air Force dispatch - Engine crank gearbox needs attention but unfortunately frame and rest has rusted beyond any amount of TLC - I am presently considering a trials rebuild and looking at using the 350 crank with a 500 barrel - I came across a post on here by a guy called Magnon back in 2009 which read -(see below) - So what interests me is - does anyone know who he was referring to regarding the ally barrel maker he knew off that will suit the std conrod (85mm stroke) and Yamaha xt350 piston (86mm). THANKS Davedent Hi Bob, h…

HI again to you all. I want to start and ride my Ty 175 that's been restored and left under covers for the last 10 years,i would like to ride it next year, but i don't have a clue where to start, what's required to get started. my son is 5 years old and i would like to get him off to a start in trials, but again where do i start, what is the requirement again, what would be a good choice in a used bike? he as basic bike skills at the moment but i would like to move him up at Xmas (that's if Santa can get a bike down the chimney) we are based in the uk west yorkshire area My ty175 (can i do that)
