Hello all from sunny Grimsby just getting myself back into trials and fancied something a bit older than the bikes i used to play on. Got myself an old 1956 Ariel NH 350 (well the main bits) to build up and ride. Though i had better say hello before picking brains etc.

Hi to all Just rekindled an interest in trials after a twenty yr lay off. Used to ride in the Lakes in the early 90's (TY250 pinky days novice champs). Inspired by the restoration of a Montesa 350 completed with a mate to ride in gentle twinshock events. Now have my own MH 349 (1983) model and have just ridden in the second event at the Bassenthwaite round at Threkeld on Sunday. Despite feeling very bruised and battered it was great fun and the easy course was ridable even for me. The bike was spot on with some amazing pulling power, looking forward to the next event. If anyone has good suggestions for replacement rear shocks and a front sprocket cover I would be great…

Excited to be part of the forum! I lucked into finding a 99 model gas gas txt270 close to home on Craigslist. I live in the flats of Kansas but hope to find some places to try the new toy out once I get a few electrical things worked out. Someone has cut into the harness and moved a few things around so if you care to provide some insight on coil, regulator and rectifier locations please chime in on the thread I'm about to start in the gas gas section.

  4. Hello Everyone, i have just bought a Beta evo 250, is there any good practice areas in and around barrow? i have had it MOT'd, taxed and insured so looking for places to have a mess around before im brave enough to enter a trial! thanks sam

Hi all, after accidently coming across a Kingswood mcc trial near Bristol the other week I'm hooked! Its the first Trial that I have seen in over 25 years (being 36) and I was really impressed with the friendly relaxed atmosphere. After chatting to a few riders I came away with the idea of buying a bike and giving it a go. I have always ridden motorbikes since about 5 (Motocross,Grasstrack and on the road) but I have never even ridden a trials bike(still haven't) I got chatting to a friend of mine who said he knew of an old ty80 his friends mum had stored away that she wanted rid of. I have purchased the bike not for myself but for my nephews to ride. After researchi…

I've been reading TC for many years now, but haven't registered. Which new bike will I buy? Well, I'm thinking about buying a Gas Gas...but maybe a Beta would be good....then again I've heard good things about the Montesa....but I'm also looking at Scorpa...but you know, I should check into the Sherco as well. What I like the most on this forum is the international trials coverage (FIM). But when I get a new bike, I think I'll use this FORUM even more than I use the international trials coverage (FIM) parts of the web site! Keep yer feet up.

Hi guys, Andy from Western Australia checking in ..... I started riding trials back in 1979 on a Montesa Cota 247 then progressed to a Cota 348, Italjet 350, Yamaha TY250S & finally a Yamaha TY250R Pinky. (also did some sidecar trials on Italjet & Yamaha outfits) Since 2000 I've been doing VMX & riding road bikes with just the occasional trial & practice session here & there but have never really lost the trials bug so will be getting back into competition for next season. I'm currently reviving another TY250S mono so will be scouring this site for tips, parts & info as there's nothing much for these bikes over here now. Cheers,…

New to all this standing up and riding slowly stuff. At the ripe old age of 65 I've decided to give trials a go as I'm too old to tear about on race tracks. And falling off a 2 mph is preferable to much faster on tarmac. Well I had a go at the Aqueduct club training day recently and thoroughly enjoyed it on a borrowed Montesa 250. Been riding since i was 15 and done a bit of road racing, but need an excuse to get into the garage for some therapy fettling bikes again, especially with a second lockdown on the horizon. I guess I will be asking lots of daft questions that most of you know the answer to, but we all have to learn from somewhere. Regards John M

Good evening Trials Guru's, My name is Gazza Boyce, from Bromsgrove Worcs, though speak with a Brummie accent for me sins.. Started riding back in 2003 and only attempted 6 meetings unfortunately due to work commitments I put my bike - Beta Rev3 2002 in the stores until two days ago. I have decided to get back to it due to permanent bust ups with the other half and boredom infested my weee brain.. This is only a small intro but thought I would say ey up! Going to attempt the Rosebowl Trophy on Sep14th. I'll be the one bricking it with all the nice Hebo clothing on an old Beta jiddering and makin excuses not to do it.. Hi, another newbie to trials. Got a beta 250 rev3 which I am really pleased with. Did my first trial today at Nash Mills in the beginners and wobblers which was brilliant. I have got my second one tomorrow at hammonds park!! Hopefully will go as well as today! Also, I hope the guy I spoke to today (phil) who was doing his first trial is gonna be ok, he broke his arm and his shoulder in a fall.

Hi, I'm Bob from Colorado. I've been into motorcycling for 40+ years, but this is my first Trials bike. It is a '83-85 Fantic 403, 300-Professional. Its in pretty good shape for its year and runs very well. I'm going to need to get new fork seals and tweak the drum brakes a bit, but other-wise its ready to ride. I'll post elsewhere to find sources for the seals, etc...thanks, Bob.
