I have just bought a Gas Gas JTR 370, I took the bike out the other night and it developed a small knock. About 5 minutes later the whole engine seized solid, with no warning. i have taken the head and barrel off and the rings are okay and the piston is free. i was wondering if anyone knows what could of happened? i think a bearing or something has dropped to bits in the bottom end of the engine. thanks. Craig.

Hi i've bought a 1968 BSA Starfie with 21" front wheel Standard forks new rear shocks and wish to use it on greenlanes. It will be MOTed and i will need to run lights so i'm looking for advice on what to buy alter and bin. I've been told a PVL ignition is too die for but not suitable for running lights, thinking of boyer branson type ignition with a gel battery does anyone have any advice? Also foot pegs, gear change, rear brake folding welding to the frame placement sump guard etc. Which carb and moving the inlet manifold back? I don't want to waste time and money but i would like to get it right. I would be greatful for any advice given thank you Peter

Hi Guys, Just a quick introduction from me. I've just got back into off roading after many years lay off. I live just outside of Malaga in southern Spain and have been here for 7 years. A mate of mine runs an off road buisness in our village and he invited me out one day, I really enjoy it even after many years lay off. He runs 230s and 450s so I tried a Honda CRF230 and loved it, I have now brought a Gas Gas EC 250 from a guy in the village and should be picking it up this week end when some money has been transfered from the UK. Thats all for the moment. skooter..

Bought a 198a (250 about 1979/80) need to know if anyone can help with details of colour and I need an electronic user manual can anyone help! Anyway it runs has a red tank but blue side panels and blue frame. Looking at pictures it should have a black engine but this one is silver and black top end? It seems customary to introduce yourself, so I am doing a quick note to say hello. I have discovered trials late in life and purchased a twin shock rather than a modern bike - old bike for an old bloke! Have a 1977 Montesa 348, which has surprised me on a few occasions, but other than a couple of niggling problems has proven rock solid. I am still very much in the 'L' plate stages of trials, but it is still a heck of a buzz to ride a bike on some of the terrain we practice on. Any way to the point of joining initially - a question - does anyone know the reason for 'phantom neutrals' on a 348 gearbox? On some occasions the gearbox seems to slip into neutral, when you h…

Hi All, Just wanted to log on and say thanks to all the guys at the meeting on sunday. I speak for our group of mates (6 of us) who had never even been to a trial, never mind even entering one!!!! Anyway we all felt that we had been made very welcome right from the off when most of us had to be pulled into the site by a digger as our vans all got stuck!!! lol. not a good start and a little embarrassing. We all enjoyed it very much and appreciated everyones patience and guidance. We all 6, have spent a lifetime on motorcycles of one form or another, most on crossers, enduros, road bikes and road racing. so this was a totally different experie…

Hi, new to TC. First started riding TL125 in 1982, moving on to TY175, progressing to Majesty 250 and Montesa Honda 349 in 1984. Still have the 349 and have had it stored since last 15 years. Now feel the need to get back out there in Caithness and Sutherland on the 349 having given it a make over. Red

Why can I NEVER be happy? Started out riding (or at least TRYING to ride!) trials last year with a TY250. Too heavy, but a beautiful bike, so found a TY175. Love how light and stong it is. Until I spotted a Can-Am 350! My first bike was a Can-Am MX-1 and have a T'nt and MX bike once again. Please stop me and tell me I am an idiot. The TY is so pretty and nice. The Can-Am would look totally different than all the other bikes. And my riding skills are still in the learning/falling process, so maybe I should just have two bikes?!?! Hope my wife never finds this site! Love going slow and glad a friend talked me out of the MX dream and into trials. Have been very …

Title says it all really! Girlfriend and family are heavily into bikes and I got 'donated' a Montesa 348 yesterday so decided to sign up to the club! Im a car technician by trade but have very little clue when it comes to bikes but always wanted to learn so what better way to start! Any local riders to the New Forest? Cheers, Adam.
