Good morning, It's been a few years since I've been on a trials bike but the bug never went away. I need help as the bikes have changed some what since my day (TY175 Whitehawk which I still have). I need a bike for my 9 year old son that will last him a couple of years and still be competative. I'm not sure of the rules and regs regarding age and cc's of bikes, so my questions are:- 1. Can a nine year old compete on a 80 or 125 bike or is there a limit to engine size for his age. 2. Whats the best bike out there for a novice. 3. Is there a bike out there that will cope with my 17 1/2 stone frame (can't let him have all the fun) plus I like a bit of poke as I'm us…

Hi Chaps. My name is Paul, I live in Sussex. I've been following the sport on and off for many years (Rathmell vs Lampkin at school) and now find myself in a position to participate. I will be entering my first trial next w/e. A friend from work has kindly offered me the loan of a bike for a begginers comp. at Golding barn, can't wait! I'll be looking for my own bike and will put a post in the general section regarding machine choice. Paul.

Have issue with the set up of the clutch arm. Is there a process to line it up properly.

Howdy everyone! I have been reading this forum for many many years. I am 60 years old and started riding motorcycles when I was five. I've owned just about everything you can think of. About 10 years ago my boys and I all had Gas Gas TXT 300s. At the time we lived in rural Kansas in the Kansas River Valley that had heavy woods and Rocky bluffs and lots of creeks etc. Those bikes were powerful and athletic, but I found them a bit too much at times. Fast forward to today, and I now live in Steamboat Springs Colorado with access to a lot of beautiful single track Mountain trails. Andy, (I appreciate this might not be the best place to post this) Just a thought, as TC features grow, is there a user guide or a place where we can post the stupid questions, "How do I ....." How to post pictures/links to pictures/Videos How to use the search engine Not missing any posts ("view new posts", "mark all posts as read" etc.) Setup a Blog, track a blog etc. Etc. I keep trying to do a search, say of all posts in the last week, but I'm incompetant and can't get the results I want.

Howdy y'all, I just picked up my second trials bike a few weeks ago - a 2010 GasGas txt300 Raga. It's been a good little scooter and I've gone to a couple trials events already. I've been riding off-road most of my life, so this is a good learning experience! My previous trials bike was a '03 Scorpa SY250 and I just picked up a '01 GasGas txt80. So, I've come here for some help rebuilding various things on these bikes!

I don't think it is possible to completely give up trials. Last event I rode was a stadium type trials in 92. I scored a kt250 last December(free! thank god cuz they get kinda expensive to revive) anyways going back to old school(twinshock) to start my attack run, and see if I can afford to ride a modern bike by next season(have you seen the price for a new Montesa ouch!) dgraf

hey all, nice to see an active trials forum. I have been on here for a while but figured a late intro is better then no intro. I have a 2000 Monty 315r. I had a 96 Beta Alp before that. Been ridding for about 3 years now and look forward to ridding my first event this season. I live on Vancouver Island and the group I ride with manily ride on mountain bike terrain. We ride up thier down trails. we climb close to 4000' in a ride easily, the terrain here makes me feel blessed as we have some killer trails. will have to post some pics. thanks for the good site, I just started tunning my suspension a bit inspired by talk on this site. Might try the quick throttle too.

Hi, I am new. I have grown up around motorcycle trials, but haven't ever had a bike of my own etc and really haven't participated. Anyways I am trying to decide if I should go Bicycle Trials or Motorcycle trials? My Dad has always ridden moto's, but I'm not sure yet. Plus a lot of the used motos aren't all that much more than a new bicycle! so anyways here i am. I am in Utah. anyone else in or around here>? oh and edit: this is what my dad's bike looks like. but he has red fenders.

Hi to all, 3 months ago mentioned to the wife "would'nt a motorbike be handy for going to work rather than another car". When the reply came "yes, perfect and you could always use my car if you needed it", I had to clean up the kitchen where I had just spat my mug of coffee.
