Started riding trials about ten years ago but put it on hold for a couple of years while I was too busy. Now I'm back; I've done a couple of trials on my 2001 Sherco 290 (complete with original tyres, which I thought was quite normal but apparently isn't!) and I've decided to start the learning process again by trading it in for a more modern 125. Once I've bought it I'll see how I get on. I'm a member of WEMC and I'll be riding their trials (and enduros on a WR250F).

Hi there - hailing from Winchester, VA. Judged a vintage trials competition back in college which got me hooked originally on motorcycles over twenty years ago. Since then, I’ve ridden street bikes and dirt bikes, restored a couple vintage bikes but never dabbled in trials. I’ve always wanted to, and now getting to a point where I’ll have more opportunity with kids getting older and such. Currently on the lookout for a good used trials bike and wondering what my best options, if there are any, for using a trials bike to ride some single track as well.

Hello. I'm another Newbie....well not quite Newbie. A 53 year old returning to trials after an absence of over 20 years. Last bike I had was a Montesa Honda MH349, (anyone remember them?). Bought it new in 1986 and sold it in 1993. I've just recently bought myself a 2009 Gas Gas TXT Pro. Bloody hell they haven't half changed since I've been away! Having just discovered this wonderful forum and reding up, and having been out on the TXT Pro a few times I'm starting to wonder If I've made the right choice. Apart from the differences which are immediately obvious: size, weight, disc brakes, water cooling.......the BIG difference is in power / power delivery. These modern …

Hi everyone, just saying hello from North Thailand. I'm back to the trials bike after a break of 30 years (last bike was Mick Andrews Rep Ossa) and will be in the UK soon for a month. I would like to get some one to one trials tuition from an expert for a couple of days in the North Yorshire / Cumbria area. Tried a search but could not find anything relevant, anybody have any experience with a trials trainer in this area? Cheers Daz

New to trials, new to trials bike ownership and looking forward to getting a few under my belt with the ACU Western Centre in 2017. Just a small clutch drag issue to resolve on my 315r, then I should be sorted. Ride safe everyone and here's to a great year.

Hi all. I'm a new member having come back to trials after 25 years or so off but riding on the road ect , just got a beta rev 3 270 and just can't wait to start competing again .I am going to rejoin my old club Alton and dist mcc and i have to say what a good and friendly club it is. I've not joined the acu yet so I don't know all the new rules yet . My question is about the marking system do different clubs interpret the rules their way or is it the same throughout the country . I know these questions will be answered when I join the club and acu but I'd like to know what's happening out in trials land . Island rich.

Hello All! I just picked up a relatively thrashed 2006 TXT Pro 280. Went out to Emma Long with the Wednesday trials group, and found its not as easy as it looks! I have no trials experience, but hope to use it to crosstrain for Rally racing. I am excited to absorb all of the information available in this awesome forum, and hopefully contribute as well! Cheers, Jason 2006 TXT Pro 2016 Husqvarna 701 Rally

Greetings all, I am in Logan, Utah. I raced motocross a lot when younger (ok, it was 25 years ago - I am 43 now) and have mostly been doing street bike riding since then. I always wanted to do some trials riding and just bought a Montesa 315R about a week ago. Of course, I have no clue what I am doing but have only looped it once and gained a lot (a ton) of respect for the bike - what a beast! Any practice advice would be greatly appreciated - I have been doing low speed figure 8s and set up some small obstacles in my back yard. For anyone living near Logan that wants to go riding - I'll drive! Cheers, Alan

Hullo - Gradually moving towards getting a very cheap (bit of a dog) Matchless G3L '49 hardtail trials trim bike to reliable standard. Glad to hear from other owners to swap notes or more realistcally give me a bit more knowledge. All the best.

Hello everyone, my name is Bart and I am from Poland. I've just bought a 1988 Beta TR34 260cc as an early christmas present for myself It needs some basic restoration and maintenance, but nothing that would overwhelm me. I am an amateur enduro enthusiast who wants to improve his riding skills and technique. Hopefully I can later translate those skills to my Yamaha TT600R, or maybe I will totally hook on Trials? Who knows? I also collect and restore vintage Vespa scooters, that is why I wanted a classic 2T Trial bike, not a modern one. Hope to find a lot of information here. Cheers!

Hi all, I have tasked myself with getting my dad's old Montesa Cota 247 running and riding again. The bike was bought years ago and spent most of it's time in his shed collecting dust. I dragged it out a few years ago and kicked it over, kicks over fine but would not start. I put it back with a promise to try get it going again. So that day came today, got it back out. Both tyres are flat and it needs some work. We are going to try get her running and riding again and then strip it down and make it look like new This is the bike in current form So checked the oil, looks OK, kicked it over a few times and everything seems to be free. I removed the HT lead an…
