Hi all, Had plenty bikes in the past but never a trials bike although fancied it for long enough, so decided to go for it and see what happens. Bought a txt 280, 2001 model I believe. Runs sweet as a nut, starts first kick, been sat in a garage for a few years so got a good deal, bit rough around the edges but not overly a***d about aesthetics, needs a good service and once over, only expensive part to sort really is the chrome on one of the stanchions has a 10mm flake off it which I think I’ll do a yeeha fix on with epoxy for now till I can afford the rechrome. Hi, is there anybody out there who can help me? i have recently bought myself a project bike for the winter being a 1978 ty 250 twinshock, its an old bike and has been stood for a few years. it has the clutch casing and clutch plate basket missing. plus kick start missing and rear silencer. here's a few things i need to know if anyone out there can help.. 1- is there a manual for a ty 250? 2- are the 250's the same as a 175 but with a bigger head on? 3- are the DT 250 engines the same, jusst geared different? 4- are there any universal parts that will fit the bike? 5- is there any places i can get parts from apart from sammy millers? look forward to hearing…

Hello Fellas, I joined this cool community recently and am enjoying seeing all the nice bikes and chatter. I have 6 vintage bikes, including a 1974 TY250 in nice running condition. Also four Yamaha Xs650's from the 70's and 80's, and a 1969 Triumph Bonneville in my living room. I restore bikes. I'm looking forward to getting involved in the discussions. I bought my ty250 mono six months ago and have just got round to using it but have discoved it has a rattle on the engine so a mechanic had a look as it sounds like the piston is hitting the head.But the piston shows no sign of that there is no play in the big are small bearings just a bit of wear and tear so he put on a exta base gasket but it still clunks and rattle . So i wonded if any one has any idears on what it could be also what oil do you put in the gear box ? Thanks

I know this may seem like a stupid question but, which way do the shocks properly go (mount) on a 1974 TY80A? To simplify my question, there is a "cutaway" or recessed section on one end of each shock. This "cutaway" could go on the top, or the bottom AND/or facing in (toward wheel) or out. Four possible scenerios here. Does anyone know what the proper set-up is? Thanks, Matthew

Hi all, after accidently coming across a Kingswood mcc trial near Bristol the other week I'm hooked! Its the first Trial that I have seen in over 25 years (being 36) and I was really impressed with the friendly relaxed atmosphere. After chatting to a few riders I came away with the idea of buying a bike and giving it a go. I have always ridden motorbikes since about 5 (Motocross,Grasstrack and on the road) but I have never even ridden a trials bike(still haven't) I got chatting to a friend of mine who said he knew of an old ty80 his friends mum had stored away that she wanted rid of. Helo All, My mate & I bought a 2007 Beta Rev3 today. Our goal is to cross-train for enduro & dual-sport trail riding on our KTM 400's. I suspect we'll be adding trials comp's soon though. We'll share he bike. We'd be glad to hear from any trials riders in the New York City metro area, especially if you have a local riding area. We're not afraid to travel. We haul our trail bikes from North Carolina to Rhode Island for opportunities. There's just enough room in the truck to tuck in the Rev3 along with the KTM EXC's. My name is Alan and I live in California, USA. I have ridden trials in one event, (4 line, wheeee), but beyond that, im just starting. I just picked up a 1997 Fantic 250 Section in bitching 80's purple, with a funky forward kickstart, (Italians have their own way of doing things..) So far, I love the bike with the exception of leaky fork seals and needing new front brake pads. Fortunately I own 3 acres to start practicing. I just need to drag some rocks and stuff around to make a course. I have ridden for about 20 years now, street bikes, motocross, supermoto. I thought I would try something different. Hello folks, im very new to these forums and even newer to trails. I currently own a 315 montesa 2000. Its my first trails an im struggling. Firstly I noticed my carb ( dellorto phbh26 cs ) is missing a screw and its terribly boggy. The thing is I dont have a clue which screw it is. As you look at the carb as its on the bike its the screw on the very left. Main jet? oil screw? I dont have a clue. Any help would be much appreciated im itching to get out on it. Thanks

Hi All, Anyone got any connections or know of clubs mid Vancouver island? I am in Courtenay and travel to Port Alberni and Campbell river for work often. 28 years on bikes but only two of those now discovering the dirt. Great fun and only had to be rescued from the hills twice. In those two years I have moved from xt250 to ktm640adventure to my current te449 trying to figure out what actually works for me. Have loved them all. Now I think it is time to add a trials bike. Always intrigued by them but thought it was for either athletes or old British Gentlemen.
