June 27, 201313 yr Hello everyone I am 44 years old , just bought a ty175 that's running but in a bit of a state. I had one of these when I was 14 and loved it. Could anybody point me in the right direction for replacement parts? Thanks
June 27, 201313 yr Welcome tworivers It would help knowing what parts you need and where you live Also there is a wealth of this sort of information already in the Yamaha forum
June 27, 201313 yr Author Thanks for the reply, I am based in lothersdale near skipton West Yorkshire , not sure what parts I need yet but I am sure I will be needing a few. I have noticed one of the sponsors supplies part, just wondered if there were any others. Thanks
June 27, 201313 yr I am not sure if it is OK to list company names on the site so I will simply suggest google or bing search for "TY175 parts." You can certainly put more modifiers in the search such as UK, US, etc to find sources closer to you.
June 27, 201313 yr JK Hirst at Bradford is place for spares - they have a website Regarding carburettor setting as on your other post, this is a bit of a long subject = I suggest you buy "two stroke tuning" by Graham Bell or read Gordon Jennings (Yamaha designer) book which is in full on the web. If you have the right grade of plug in the insulator should be chocolate brown, any lighter and it is too weak. Cheers
June 28, 201313 yr Author Thank you for your time and replies. I ve got some good pointers already. This site is a god send for info, can,t remember what I did to repair my bike back in the 70,s a lot more hit and miss if I remember correctly. Have a good weekend.
