Hi to everyone on the forum. Just been looking for trials bits and bobs and came across the forum. I've not ridden for about 18years, used to ride schoolboy trials in the 80's and 90's. I've seen Chris Hanan's name mentioned and Shirty Jnr who I used to ride with. Used to ride for Sheffield and Hallamshire. Just bought a gasser 280 and will be riding first trial on Sunday at Barnsley if I can remember how to ride, not had any practice!!!!!.

Hi all my name is stuart and i have been riding bikes since i was 5 im no stranger to super moto's, enduros and sports and naked road bikes but trial biking is completely new to me. After a nasty scare on my super moto a few months ago ( relating to the bike taking a horizontal lie down with me on it) i have decided to sell my much loved toy, and try and find another expensive, adrenaline filled, slightly slower way of fun to take up my free time and to meet some interesting people along the way. My bike will be for sale shortly after a few problems have been ironed out, so i will be on the hunt for a bike,,, what bike to get ?????????? im 6ft2 and average build. i was he…

Hello members, I am new here. Recently bougth a TY 250 Mono typ 59N. After a few rounds I found out that there will be some work on it. Engine runninig OK but wheels are to be refurbished. At least I know that Z spokes bend when you turn to hard. And that it is a desaster to find single ones to buy. I am german and live in Belgium near the German border. Hopefully I find a good dealer and partssupplier either in Belgium or Germany. Would be thankfull to get some hints. Greatings Andreas

Hi All, just joined so thought id introduce myself. Names James, live on the Swiss / French border in a region of France called Alsace. Been riding for around 20 years but gave up road riding when the kids were born, now mostly potter about the local green lanes on my enduro bike and get out on the trials bike when i can Have just bought a Sherco Ty125 as i wanted something super quiet to ride in the back garden and i liked the ability to fit a seat and use the bike for some more technical green lane stuff as well as trials. Hi, I'm a new rider in MD, I live in Frederick and have been riding bike trials for years. Looking for people to ride with and learn from as well. I'm getting ready to buy a bike in the next few weeks, and am trying to decide if I should buy a mid to late 90's bike or if there is any reason I should consider spending more on a newer bike from about 2004 or 2005. Considering I'm an entry level rider will an older bike hold back my progress? Or am I better off with an older bike because I'm sure I'll be dropping it alot while I learn.

Helloo, I've just bough a Gasgas 125 (2009) off ebay and I cant get the thing to start. During purchase it wouldn't start either but im confident that, in a few months, with your help, it'll fire up!! Here is what I know: bike looks good, its got a carburettor and a spark plug. compression seems fine. There is fuel in the tank. It's been left for a while unused. Ill try to add some pics - Please could any one give me some simple tips. Somewhere to start in terms of getting this thing started. So far I have mainly tried: full choke. half/full throttle, kicking the hell oot of it till I'm knackered.

hi, Back in the day,(80 s),..I had a mate, who was pretty good on a trials bike,. Entered the six day etc.,..and had good equipment,. I used to go along with him to help out now and again,. And used to have the odd potter around on his bikes. At the time,. I was more into car racing, and used to do auto grass,. But the usual things came along(mortgage /Kids),..and that was that. Now I would like to get back into doing some form of motor(bike),sport,. And would welcome some advice. I am 54,..and would be operating on a very tight budget( kids still at home lol),..I have gone along to watch a couple of local twinshock trials,. And that seemed a good thing for someone li…

I used to ride trials many years ago with a Honda TL 125 with a powroll 175 kit on it. It was a cool little bike all be it heavy. I love the new bikes because you do the same stuff on it we do on our bicycles. I ride bicycle trials as well. Now one thing I'd like to know and maybe I'm stupid here but in the videos I've watch of say Lampkin there's this guy yelling like an idiot to do stuff the rider is already doing. If it were me I'd slap this guy. It would absolutely bug the holy crap out me. WHAT could this yelling possibly do for the rider but break his concentration. I've watch video after video and all I see is some guy making a total nuisance of himself. I just d…

Evening all! I'm gonna say i'm new here, although i did joine in October 2010 with the aim of buying a trials bike. Long story short, years back i was a half decent i guess, bike trials rider. I ended up getting into bmx which eventually took over, and then due to injuries i had to pack it in at the level i was riding, and kind of accidentally found myself racing a CBR600rr, and and R6 for a few years, and then last year a Fireblade. In 2010 in the off season, i joined here with the intention of getting a trials bike, but due to a few racer friends getting into enduro riding and MX which is great training for road racing, i got a Yam YZ250 crosser.... To my eternal re…

Hi Everyone, I'm currently looking at cheap trials bikes to get into it and learn new skills. Most of my riding is done on road with either my Suzuki DL650 V-Strom or my DR-Z400SM. I also have a set of off-road wheels that I put on the DR-Z when I want to do some off road riding. The off road riding is restricted to a few weekends per year when I load it on the back of a trailer, head off to a camp site and then ride around for a day or two with friends before going home. I've also had the Strom off road in Morocco on some TKC80 (knobbly) tyres. I quickly realised that one needs different skills for off road riding compared to on road riding and while trying to get more i…
