Hi, A couple of weeks ago I bought a 1979 Bultaco Sherpa 250, really nice bike and restored by its former keeper. I have pretty much zero trialing experience although I have been riding bikes for around 35 years (probably a familiar tale!). Eventually I would like to enter some novice twin shock events if I can get my skill level beyond hopeless and the bike set up right! Anyway, i'm based in Cumbria near to Kirkby Stephen, are there any local clubs anyone can recommend? Cheers.

I've been riding bikes for 40 yrs now so I thought it was about time to have a go at getting muddy. I picked up an old Fantic the wednesday before Christmas and entered my first trial on the 27th. Possibly a little under prepared, I managed two laps of 10 sections before retiring, exhausted, with a fairly respectable cricket score! Getting the bike up to speed will be a lot easier than doing the same with the rider, but Hey, someones got to be last.

Thought I would be civil and say high to all..... Coming back into trials after about 20 years out of the saddle. Rode twin shocks in the 80's at schoolboy level for many years and now that my son wants to start (he's 17) it seemed an ideal excuse to get myself a bike! Looking forward to the chat etc....

Hello folks , I've never set foot on a trials bike, ive road motorcycles since i was a kid and road with a few road race clubs for the last five year but never a trials bike and ive been told that its alot different to what im used to so I'm on the lookout for as much advice as I can get. I live in the Leeds area and would like to know where would be the best place to go and ride trials, what gear would you recommend I need and what bikes should be on my wish list. Two bikes keep cropping up in recommendations and that's the Shirco 290 and the Beta Rev3 250. Your opinions are much appreciated many thanks, Mick.

Hello, I'm new to trials, starting out with a 2016 Beta Evo 250. Did the clutch mod and ordered some boots, and other than that just spending a lot of time riding in the field getting used to the bike.

  7. Hello all, I am becoming re-interested in trials after a long hiatus. My grandson is turning three and is interested in motorcycles and my daughter has fond memories, so is open to the idea of an Oset 12.5. I figured I might pick up a used whatever to plonk on and help him learn (in the day, I was never great, but did ride advanced respectably). Anyways, thanks for still being here as a resource! Ward

Hi I'm an ex Midland Centre rider from the 60's and 70's disappearing to Australia in 1980. Still riding in trials although I've slowed down a bit after a hip replacement a few weeks ago. I heard a name mentioned the other day on this website (I think) and would love to hear from him and a few others who were around in those days. As the Galpin brothers, Mike and Roger we used to ride BSA's with the Slinn brothers and the Winwood brothers and it was Pat Slinn who was mentined. My dad, Eric, used to know Reg Slinn and whatever happened to Alan Wright, Scott Ellis, Mick Bowers, Dick Hearn, Pat Brittain and a host of other top Midland centre riders. Chris Leighfield is o…

Hello All Just a short introduction. I'm John Armstrong, currently working in Pakistan but from the UK originally. I live on a compound close to the power plant I work at, surrounded with about 1600 acres of land to ride on. I dropped on by chance in Karachi a TLR 200 which is in reasonable condition and seems to have been imported from Japan to be broken for spares. We have a bit of coastline here, some cliffs and a few small hills and rocks so its entertaining. This is my first four stroke bike,I had a Fantic 175 in the UK, I didn't compete, just rode the bike in the local quarries with that was a few years ago now. I am in quite a remote location and the security…

Hi, I am new to the sport this website and motorcycles in general. I participated in my first trials event this last October and decided to jump in with both feet. I am currently restoring and modifying a TY175 for the coming year and have a second restoration waiting in the wings. I have learned a lot already from this site and it has helped shape my project. I am new to trials bikes but have been building, wrenching and racing cars for several years. Below are some pics of my TY frame in process. Enjoy!

Hi, back riding trials again, used to ride when I was 16 now back 10 years later. Got myself a beta evo 300, bought as a 2014 but looking like it’s actually a 2012 thanks

Well I am 27 years young from Ayrshire in Scotland. I currntly race mx and have done for oh 19 years now so bike experience that way is not a problem. I have also practiced pedal trials for around 7 years. I have good natural balance and decent bike skills both pedal and the engine powered kind. Anyway to cut a long story short I was practicing the other day getting ready for racing this weekend at Drumclog then due to lack of entries the race was cancelled. As motocross is such an exspensive sport and the fact that this year I have not gained any speed tells me that maybe I am ready to take a back seat on the mx thing. Thinking of trading in for a new 08 125 to keep for…

Hi all, new to trials and eager to learn. Bought a 1995 Beta Techno last week. Running but needs a little work (had a nice Yamaha TY250 but it was stolen a couple of months ago hence me buying the Beta). Took it out yesterday and discovered the phenomenon of 'cold stick' when I put it into first and it took off on me (didn't have this problem with my TY). My sons were watching at the time and though it very funny. Luckily no damage done to either the bike or me (so far). So my first job will be the clutch fix project posted on the site by Dan. I'm sure I'll have loads of questions so I'll be very grateful of input from you all.
