Hi all. I'm a new member having come back to trials after 25 years or so off but riding on the road ect , just got a beta rev 3 270 and just can't wait to start competing again .I am going to rejoin my old club Alton and dist mcc and i have to say what a good and friendly club it is. I've not joined the acu yet so I don't know all the new rules yet . My question is about the marking system do different clubs interpret the rules their way or is it the same throughout the country . I know these questions will be answered when I join the club and acu but I'd like to know what's happening out in trials land . Island rich.

Hi everyone jioned trials central a while ago, and have just bought my first solo bike (125 scorpa sy) since 1979. Rode my first solo trial for 32 years, yesterday. Thanks to the observers and officials of bolton club, had a great day, good weather and didnt drop too many marks, always a good thing. It was good to get back to riding trials after all these years, last rode sidecars in 1994. Thanks again to everyone for making it a geat day, I wont leave it so long next time! Thinking of riding next weekend at Darwin, havent told the wife yet. See you around.

Just bought myself a Fantic 240,never owned or ridden a trials bike, but have rode dirt for forty years.(I'm such a magnificent rider I have a total of seven whole trophies to show for my efforts ) I volunteer at a local state owned ORV park plus have several places to play and learn at,hopefully I'll enter an event later this year! Bought a Fantic because way back when I was a kid my family was briefly a Broncco dealer(Fantic trivia buffs will know about Broncco) so I always said when I got a trials bike it had to be a Fantic.

Hi, I am looking for advice on this ignition system. The bike was running great and then died. I have good compression and air/fuel. I have no spark. New spark plug. Checked plug wire and boot - 5000 ohms - good. Stator has 1 yellow wire coming from it. I get 10 volts AC from the stator when spinning engine with a drill. The regulator/rectifier outputs 9 to 10 volts DC and the rad fan runs when I spin the engine with the drill. No spark when I spin with the drill. I am guessing the above suggests low voltage so maybe a bad stator - should I have 12 volts DC or maybe 14 or more like a car?. Note that there is no battery or charging…

Greeting from New Hampshire, USA! I haven't ridden a bike in about 40 Years! I am now 54 and purchased "new to me" a 06' Montesa 4rt, trying to learn to balance etc, haven't fallen yet, nor have I left 1st gear.......previous owner has done an engine oil change....but not the filter, I have the owners manual, however , "if" some one has a change coming up soon, could they make a quick video? I heard mixed things, some say easy, some say not so, I am some what mechanically inclined...Thanks again! Philip

...and feeling like an excited kid all over again! Thoroughly enjoying my Scorpa. Looking to enter a trial, how do you decide what to enter, ie. Wobbler, Novice, Beginner? How do you find out where Trials are? I found the ACU East Midland events list, but they only state the club, not the location...!?!

Hello all. With the family all grown up and independant, and a couple of spare quid in the bank, what better than to get back into motorbikes after a 25 year break? While I was mainly into motocross and road bikes, I did dabble in trials for a bit with an old Ossa. Now starting up afresh, based near Henley on Thames in South Oxon - any pointers towards local trials clubs, dealers, comps - anything please. And if I buy a Gas Gas 300 - will it kill me? Cheers

Hello I just bought a 250 Alpina (1974), no fenders, no electricity, few spokes broken but running engine. Of course, I will need some advices and feedbacks from this forum: First subject will be the seals for the crankshaft. I did in the past few bikes , and riding every day my 175KE (1976), I know my project will need months (probably years). I live near Princeton (NJ USA), Thank you

Hi again, road my second trial at weekend, Bolton clubs NW center round, a little bit tougher than my first foray! I somehow managed to win my class first time out, back to the true me this time LAST. Now thats what I expected!!Even so had a great time managed lots of fives and threes, some twos and ones and even a few cleans; what an amazing little bike the 125 scorpa is. Thats it for a while now , somehow I have torn a muscle in my shoulder , the wife finds this most amusing. See you again soon, cant wait.

At the grand old age of 58, I must be mad to try my hand at trials riding again ? I made the fatal mistake of going to a Witley MCC trial back in March (ended up observing) and met up with lots of old riding friends from the 70's; many were still competing and enjoying the camaraderie of the trials world. I found myself looking at twinshock M/C's and of cause "the inevitable" has happened with the purchase of a MH 349. The bike needs some TLC but I am enjoying the challenge; tinkering in the garage at night, fighting with the rear tyre etc only to realise how out of touch I am. Ian.

Hi just turned 50 so thought it be good to have a go again - guy came in the shop and offered me a 2004 Sherco 290 for 500 quid so snapped it up. New brakes, bearings, oil and suspension bushes later and she running fine. Just come back from my inorgral practice by the river, all ok until I slipped off the edge - me and the bike fully submerged, only the the throttle grip sticking out !! Anyway managed to pull her out but now will not start - unsurprisingly !! Glad to be back !!!

Hi Everyone, My buddy just gave me this Trail bike for my son. I think it is a 1984 just by looking at other pics . I live in London Ontario Canada and I cant find anything on these except from over seas. It only has 86.4 kms on it. Its like new. It has been stored away for 20 years. The gas was drained and the air box was turned into a home for several mice. The air filter is missing and I need to find one? It has 403 stamped on the cover. Can anyone tell me if there is a Canadian or American dealer? If I cant find anything, what are they worth? I might have to sell it. Thanks Jerry
