Just a quick hello. I used to ride trails many moons ago. OSSA MAR, then a Green Gripper and finally a Majesty 320 from John Shirt in Buxton. Really enjoyed the time, 1973 onwards if I remember correctly, as a member of Manchester 17. First person who spoke to me at a trial at a small quarry on Hayfield Road between Chinley and Hayfield, was Dave Rowlands. Super chap and a gentleman, sadly no longer with us. If I recall, Dave Thorpe won the trail with a clean sheet. I struggled to get between the sections let alone get up any of them. Eventually I managed to get the hang of it, but after about 5 years, other interests intervened, and the Yam had to go due to wedding bel…

Hi All, I'm in a little place on the SE tip of the Australian mainland, called Mirboo North. 2 mins from the forest, with a big hill in the backyard. Been riding since 7, growing up on a NZ Sheep Farm. I'm a trials virgin, but always wanted to have a go at it, after watching the next door neighbor ride over a 44 gallon drum on a TL125. We used them for mustering. Past bikes i've had, have been an Yamaha Mx80, XL100, XR200, RD250LC, GPZ900R. Currently i'm riding a 06 DRZS set up for Dual Sporting and the latest is a, Beta Rev3, the the best thing i've ever ridden. I think it was the quickest I have ever fallen in love with a bike. I reckon I was fishing for my depo…

I thought I would take a minute to introduce myself. My name is Greg and I am typing from Vancouver Island on the west coast of British Columbia Canada. I have two trials bikes #1 is 1979 TY250 and my newest one I bought is a 97 RTX 212 Trials. If anyone knows anything on this RTX bike could you maybe send me some links. It came with a owners manual written in felt pen along with an exploded pic of the clutch along with some specs of oil etc. It also has some phone # for the USA, but I thought I would try my luck on the internet first. I searched the interenet and was linked to a post written by one of the members here *petedad* who had transplanted a honda engige in plac…

Hi All, The names John (42yrs) and I've been riding road bikes for 20+ years and currently ride a YZ250 in Junior Motocross and Club-man level Enduro. I've just taken the plunge and purchased a 2004 Sherco 290 with a view to getting access to more ride time and improving my general bike control and balance. Right now I've been reading the site for tips and general how to for the mechanical side of things and will soon be delving into the techniques side of things. So far I've not ridden the bike but will be aiming to do so ASAP. I'll probably be asking silly questions so I apologise now and beg your pardon. Any tips for a total newbe? Regards John

Hi, I'm going to give in to my back of mind gremlins and go out an get my first bike, trials of course. As I live a very remote part of the country I'm hoping that I can find some secret sweet spots that's the locals use/allow me to practice on. I have no kit or bike yet (or garage yet but that's being sorted) so soon il be out dabbing every rock and root in Cumbria. If there are any other riders who wish to share their breadth of knowledge id be more than happy to take advice and buy a beer. Scott

Hi, I'm Tommy from Yorkshire. I used to do a lot of greenlaneing, but had a major 'off' last year, breaking my back, sternum, clavical and a couple of ribs. This ended in a helicopter ride from the moors near Pateley Bridge to Harrogate Hospital. Want to get back to full fitness as I really miss the muddy stuff. So I've bought an old nail Montesa 315. Needs a bit of work doing to it, but hey that's half the fun. My logic being that this will help exercise the muscles I use offroad (Hate gyms). Also not a lot of speed involved when things go wrong, and knowing me they will! Also got a couple of road bikes, a Triumph Sprint ST and a CCM 644 Supermoto. Ride safe gu…
