Hello everyone it’s wonderful to be able to join you all here today I bought an old aprilia tx 240 and recently started riding a kx250f (absolute beast) Unfortunately my tx 240 isn’t a runner and i will be asking a few questions hopefully I can answer some too as I have spent a bit of time on her. that is a hospital bed the tx 240 is the patient I like the unique look of these old bikes i had a rotax 122 for her but that won’t fit without chopping the frame.

Hi, New to all this trials malarkey, have joined as I intend to get my boys 7 and 9 into riding so we can go and have some fun together (rather than me watching them have all the fun at Tennis /footballl etc etc) We have some old bikes I am going to get rid of (pw50,ty80,gg50) so I can get the boys a bigger oset 20 to ride on as the 9 year old is to big for the 16 we have, but I like the osets for them to learn on as they easier for them to learn on with no clutch. They are really excited and interested at the moment so looking forward to trawling round the site and picking up some tricks and tips. Cheers Phil

I'm new to this site, so if I'm posting in the wrong area...sorry, please advise. My issue is, I'm re-building an old TY-250, 1974, awaiting a new electronic ignition, new throttle cable that replaces the forked one that controlled the oil injector, and a plate to block the old port for the worm gear that drives the oil injector. While I'm waiting, I'm trying to identify the rear shocks that came with the bike. They are definably after market shocks, red in color and have an air stem at the bottom. I have seen these shocks on other vintage bikes. My question is: What is the manufacturer name? Can the shocks be rebuilt? What is the recommended pressure for a 200 lb …

Hi folks, a mate has been trying to get me into Trials so I had a first go this weekend in a field and going slowly around a tyre. We're both beginners, me more so. He's bought a ~2008 GasGas 280. To cut to the chase, my throttle control wasn't so good and when I stopped relying on the clutch I ended up chucking it in a hedge. We'll be looking for a 125 or easier 250 to learn on but in the short term, where's my best bet for sourcing a replacement used clutch cover? Managed to crack it! Thanks and hello, Des

Hello I've spent many hours enjoying reading posts until my eyes are like p*** holes in snow... I grew up in Yorkshire riding Bultos and Ossas. I explained to my wife that I grew up riding with the Lampkins (I think I saw a couple of them across a wet field, 400 yds away...?) and it is my right to start riding trials after a brief lay-off, 42 years to be precise. I live in Hertfordshire these days. I've bought an '85 TLR200 thinking I'd ride twin-shock events and restore the bike and improve at the same time. So far, new cables, bars, grips, tyres, exhaust, brakes and oils and still I haven't made it out of the garage. I keep breaking bits off and having to sou…

Hi All, Recently acquired a 1974 Ossa MAR, the whole thing is wreck so have stripped it right down. In short I cracked a crank case separating and am now looking to replace the right side case. I bought a nice cheap pioneer case but the only difference seemed to be the size of the crank webs as this chamber is 5mm smaller in diameter than that of the MAR, I have since bought an MAR case 1972 and again 5mm too small. Can Anyone tell me what year/model may correspond with the size difference other than 1974? Engine and frame match. Put me out of my misery please.. Benny

Hello, has anyone heard of a lighter spring that will fit a sachs rear shock on my 2019 Beta Evo 250. Apparently, an Ohlins spring doesn't fit . I'm only 9 1/2 stone and i find the standard one is too firm. Any other setting suggestions are also welcome Thanks

Hello all i have been riding motorbikes since i was like 2, first ride was not pretty i was out cold for 2 days its a good story but it never put me off riding, i have been riding road bikes and motoX bikes for that time but i always liked the riding style of trials, IMO a bit more fun than riding a 450 around i had been thinking of buying a trials bike for like 3 years, you know that feeling when you want to do something but you procrastinate basically what i have been doing for the last 3 years until my older brother came to me with an offer,my 2008 Kawasaki Z750 for his 2005 txt 300 pro and 2015 crf450r, the trade was pretty far in my favor but my brother h…

  19. HI. Live just outside Milton Keynes and joined the local club again after a temporary break of 32 years. Never gave up bikes though, quite the opposite. Went and watched a trial at Great Brickhill a week or so ago and thought it looked a lovely way to spend a day out. Now got myself a Beta Evo 250 2T 2011 which I am currently working through trying to get as good as I can before giving it a go on the local club ground just to get a bit fitter and have fun doing it , as I last did all those years ago. But who knows, one day I might try a proper trial to see just how many points it is possible to amass Keith

Hi, Andrew here. Just starting out in trials at the tender age of 56, and with a dodgy right arm. I've previously owned a Honda TL125 which i loved, and stupidly sold in a moment of weakness. Recently got a Montesa Cota 172 project bike to get riding again (been off bikes for 5 years due to a bad accident, not bike, or car), and then bought a basket case Mk111 Montesa Cota 243. I'm going to have lots of questions, but foremost is. How much oil goes in a cota 173? Do you have to lift the engine in the frame to undo the plug? And finally, why did Montesa put the plug in such a stupid place? I sort of get why there is no oil level provision, it's a competition bike, but it w…
