Hi all, I've been riding bikes of all kinds for over twenty years. Mostly of the off road variety, including two trials irons. A fantic 125 twin shock which jumped out of gear going up hills and was an all round dog, and more recently (about seven years ago) a ty pinkie. The pinkie is probably my favourite bike of all I've owned. It was ridden regularly on private land until four years ago when divorce, marriage and child no.3 happened. Anyway it's been languishing in the garage for the intervening years being tinkered with from time to time. That is until last week when I hurriedly through it back together in time for my trials debut with no practice whatsoever. It's …

A big "howdy" from Hillsdale Michigan. Been riding trials since the mid 90's and my current ride is a 2012 Ossa 280i. Just joined to get some advice on my Ossa. I am the chief engineer for Cobra Moto, so if anyone has questions for 50cc & 65cc motocross bikes. Feel free.

My name's Mike, I'm new to trials. I bought my first bike 2 months ago and probably put 30 hours on it so far. Love the bike, looking forward to trials meets when the virus is under control. Unfortunately the bike I bought has a bearing that spun in the rear hub so I'm looking for one of those currently. Going to try some shim stock and sleeve retainer as a last ditch effort. Anyway nice to meet you all!

Hi all. I have been looking through the forum for a couple of weeks and it looks just the place I need for some advice. I fancy getting myself a trials bike for playing on and doing a couple of trials each year. Not sure what I should be looking for but I do want it road registered and want something that is reliable, easy to get spares for and not too expensive. I have around

Got a 2018 Montesa 260 4RT pulled it out of the garage last week & it kicked over first time let it run for 10 minutes, turned it off then kicked it over It started 1st time again let it run for a bit and ooking at the tacho it was running at over 2000 rpm so I turned the screw in a touch so it was running nicely at about 1850rpm at the same time I tucked the wiring that runs from the ignition behind the clip under the regulator...... turned it off then when I came to restart it wouldn’t start, did the reset, still wouldnt start so I looked at that wiring from the ignition & took off some loose electrical tape & pulled it out from…

Hi to all, I never fancied trials and could never see the point of it, been riding since i was 11 (which was a LONG time ago) and i then did 5 years of road racing, and five of Enduro and had road bikes in between. Well now is the time and i have bought a sorted 1998 Gasgas 320 of a mate and i can't get enough of it. A lot of my mates, some of who have done well in MX and national road racing are doing trials and love it. I've only been riding the bike for a couple of weeks but i've picked up a few things already and all i can say is sorry to all those i used to turn my nose up at. Ignorance really is bliss. If i had one of these bikes when i was a kid i'd be 10 times th…

Hi everybody I 'bought' a 2000 Montesa Cota 315 on Ebay but when I went to collect it it was a 97 so I said no thanks. It is cosmetically tatty, the exhaust has dents front & back, the grips have chunks missing, the kill switch is held on with a cable tie...you get the idea. However I think it is little used and in good mechanical condition...started easily, idled easily, revved freely, gears ok up & down , lots of brake pads, brakes worked ok, chain looked clean, tyres had life, rims unknocked, front & back wheels had no play in any direction etc etc I need a bike to be reliable above all else. Realistically I'm going to use it less than 10 times a year.…

Hi All I am 46 years young and live just outside Buckingham and have been involved in bikes most of my life, mainly road racing and touring. I have some places to practice up on the cotswolds but would like to meet up with some locals to help get me get going on my Fantic 200 twinshock. Someone to laugh at me when I fall off etc. I have no aspirsations to become a champion I am just out to enjoy trials riding and the countryside, its just something I have always wanted to do. I'm not sexists or ageist so happy to ride with young or old male or female and any skill level. I have a workshop and trailer and I am always happy to drive. I am going to watch the Classic in Col…

Hi from Perth Scotland I just recently took a notion to give trials a go. I'm on the wrong side of 50 (just !). I had a twin shock Fantic many years ago which was an unreliable disaster and I never used it much as never found anywhere convenient to do so. That makes me a complete no-clue-newbie with only a recollection of how hard it was and without the benefit of growing up with BMX's or doing mountain bike tricks ! Not sure if I am mad , stupid or both I'll hang around and pick up some tips. The idea is to pick up a 2nd hand bike and see if I can get to grips with things. Info on anywhere to practice in the Perth area would be really useful. I have info on…

Hello everybody, congratulations for the excellent site and Forum, I have Always been a trials admirer and a Montesa enthusiast, but after burglars broke in my country house and stole my 1973 Cota 247 I forgot about it for a while. I have now bought two 247s and am beginning the restoration of the first one.... http://www.stefanopasini.it/Montesa_Cota_247.htm ..with not much hope of ever using either, as my job as an ophthalmogist and other stuff keeps me fairly busy! All the best Stefano Pasini www.stefanopasini.it

Hi all, thought I'd post a line or two - new to the forums but not to trials riding Name is Judd - I live out near Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado - around 7k feet, great area for trials riding, many people have said one of the best. I get out on a trials ride at least once a day, it's in my backyard - pretty spoiled out here Thought I would post a couple of pics of my bikes, I have a 1975 TL250 and a 1994 Beta Synt 260 (well, also an '03 YZ250F, an '00 CR125, a '98 KX110, a '72 Kawasaki F7220, and a '77 DT100, lol): My SYNT just died on the way down the trail yesterday, no spark - so am currently investigating that problem....hoping their is a fuse o…

Having spent more than a few hours researching different trials bikes and members issues on this site, I have finally taken the plunge and signed up?. I am currently restoring a 1972 Bultaco M80 Sherpa 250 ‘T’ Kit Campeon. This will be my third trials bike that I have restored since taking early retirement from an Automotive Engineering background. Previously a 1980 Bultaco 199a 350 (325) Sherpa ‘T’ and then a 1979 Yamaha TY 250 E. The last time I rode a Trials bike in anger was at the Trade and Press Barons Wazy Goose Trial held at Brands Hatch in 1979. I have always had road bikes (many) my last being a KTM 990 Adventure, a fantastic machine. That went when I decided th…
