Thanks for adding me, want a new angle in life , always fancied a trials bike but never got round to it so fifty this year and decided to have a bash! Always rode motorbikes, since 13 years old, bit of off road but mostly road riding over the years. I stumbled across this site whilst researching trials bikes and it’s great. I’m looking at all types but mainly at Beta evo 200 and the older Montesa 260 4 stroke. I’m in the process of moving from Suffolk (B.S.Edmunds) to Dunmow (Essex) so my wife is insisting I don’t buy a bike just yet but I am looking so you never know ? cheers people, I’ll certainly be on trial soon! Stef.

Hello to everyone! Please forgive me, I haven't practiced much English for the last 10 years... I'll try to write the best I can. I bought a 2nd hand '07 Beta Rev 3 250cc about 2 years ago, but I injured myself the very first day... and now I'm starting to take the beta outdoors, but I can't even manage to climb tracks I used to do with my enduro bike. Since it's second hand bike and I've left it in the garage for so long, there is some extra maintenance to do and some stuff to check just to get to know the bike. And for that, this forum it's being of a lot of help since there is so much information! I'm not good with tools and mechanics so I check continuously the man…

Greetings All, I'm a Brit living in France near to Niort in the Deux Sevres (not far from La Rochelle). I've been away from biking for 25 years, as you do, and got back into this year with a BMW 1150RT and a Yamaha WR250F. I've just come back from a dirt ride adventure around Kazakhstan, which was awesome. I used to have a Fantic 200 and did some competition but wasn't any good - I once got my bike stuck high up in a tree! Lured by the name again, I bought a 1997 Fantic 250, which has turned out to be tired and used and costing to get it running properly but I am learning more about mechanics which is what I wanted. So, I am hoping for some advice and company on here…

Howdy folks. After many years of not riding dirt bikes I just had to give it a go again and decided on a Trials bike. I rode one like 35 years that was my brothers (RL250 Suzuki) I have had a multitude of injury’s and repairs but I guess I never have learned so I brought home a 94? BETA ZERO. The engine runs well and I rode it around the yard for about a half hour and have a few things that need fixed and will want to service it also. So will have some questions no doubt. Maybe the trials bike wont be as hard on me as the Enduro and Motorcross bikes were Im in North East Kansas.

I'm new to this so I hope it works! I need a new bike for LDT's ( ie approx 70 mile trials / mixture of road and lanes + 30 odd sections ). These are great events but being in the late 50's I'm looking for a bike thats light and easy to ride. I've narrowed the choice down to a Scorpa sy250 long ride or a Montesa 4rt with one of the aftermarket long range seat tank units. The problem is deciding which. Does anybody have any advice on which is the better bike for this sort of event? Thanks for any help. Pete

Good day, all fellow UK Trials riders. I currently have moved to the UK I'm staying in Surrey currently but moving in 2 weeks to a place I found in Sevenoaks! I'm looking for any friendly riders that could assist me obtaining information about it here. ie where to ride, what club to join, 2nd hand good cond bikes to purchase, what licenses I would need. Your feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone, I’m Pete (you’d never have guessed) from Buckinghamshire, I joined the site just before Christmas after spending a few evenings reading past posts. I came to the conclusion that you all seemed like a nice bunch of friendly helpful people and with my impending return to Trials after a break of more years than I care to remember, I thought I’d better join the community. My Trials history started back in the 70’s with a TY80 on which I had great fun! A few more bikes and a few more years saw me sadly turn my back on the trials scene for the far more distracting and even more costly girls and cars! Fast forward 30 years and I’m now the owner of two TY175’s of …

Hello lads. I went out and bought myself a 290 Sherco '05 the other day - I have head plenty of fun already! What is really daunting is the lack of information/manuals/how-to's about these bikes. I am very keen on maintaining the bike and there are a few things with the bike that will need remedied, although Im not sure on how to tackle such jobs. I want to learn. The links to manuals on this website are all no longer available, unless im missing something? If any members here could point me in some direction as to find out how to work on/ maintain trials bikes - preferably an '05 290 sherco! Thanks a lot! - Cameron

Hi all. Went to my first trials meet 2 weeks ago and thought i must have a go before i get to fat or old! Just bought a 1978 Montesa Cota 348 in very good condition, I am not looking to be the next "Dougie" just to have some fun and do the easier sections. So, now i have the excuse to loose weight and get fit and the added benefit of joining a great sport. Jim

Hi All, I've just picked up a bike after about ten years out of the game. I used to practice at Back Cowm and Cliviger (and other places it seems sadly are no longer an option). There used to be a big group of us when I was a kid challenging each other and they all slowly disappeared one by one. I can practice mid week and weekends depending on work be good to meet some new folks if anyone fancies a practice session. Got myself an Evo 300 - awesome bit of kit. Cheers. Lee
