Helo Everyone: New member here from sunny So. California. I really like visiting this site and seeing and reading all your stories and bikes. I've aquired a TL250 that was left to rot, hurt my heart to see that so I brought it home gave her a bath put her in a warm garage and started to disasemble her. Well now I'm itching to ride, so I've begun to reasemble her. She a bit battered but I'll see if she starts. if she does yippy! Anyway just want to say hello to you all. I'll be looking here for some answers if I come up with any problems. Redrudster

Hello all Fairly new to trials riding I've been on my old Rev 3 for a few months now. When I say on thats in the loosest sense of the word ie lots of off too !! Had a crack at my first trial last year which was amusing to say the least. Some sections were clear but others I should have fitted rucksack straps to the bike and carried it round. A humbling experiance as some really young riders just skipped past me whithout batting an eye ( great to see, much to aspire to ). Lots of progress since then though and getting better, forever an optimist ! I'm always looking to meet others for a ride and a chat so if you fancy that please get in touch. If anyone can point me in…

hey lads and lassies, just bought a 2004 sherco 290 for getting into it,had been lying up for a year or so, im used to biking but this trials is completely different skill base, so far as i can gather main difference is to go slow and stay upright instead of normal biking is as fast as u can go and slide a knee on a corner if you can i noticed slight slap noise, from engine, decided it needed further investigation, took out engine today and i going to need to do the main bearing, also the chrome frame is pretty scratched and slightky tatty rusty, so going to paint, plasti coat or rechrome (ideas on best options) i understand i need pullers to do the bearing, any one …

Allo folks, I'm the proud new owner of a 2000 gas gas 280, and pretty new to trials in general, had a Fantic 245 about 5 yrs ago, had it about a month befor it got pinched, I did manage to get out and make a complete abortion of an event I entered, the term " WOBBLER" didn't even come close to describing how bad I was.. Anyway I live in Essex, train driver on the underground and part time Tattooist, got loads o kids.. usual stuff... Looks like a good site with some good caractures,, lok forward to speaking to you all Justin

If anyone is in the area, and can help, I'd really appreciate it. I live in Windsor, but I've got a trailer and can travel. Many thanks Steve

Hello everyone this is my first post here but ive been riding trail and enduro bikes for a few years. I recently did a top end rebuild on a mates Beat and after riding it around the garden decided that trials was in fact, very cool. SO i rushed out and Ive just bought an old (1991) Aprilia climber 280 trials bike to knock about on during the winter while I save for a 2005/2006 YZ or CR 125 to do enduros on next year. But sadly, the plan did not go to plan!!!! Full details here lol = http://www.trailbikemag.com/forum/viewtopi...p?p=81996#81996]Clicky click://http://www.trailbikemag.com/forum/v...a>]Clicky click

Hello world ! As I'm registering on this web, I see there is a "introduce yourself", so here we go. I'm 34 years old male living in Iceland. Some of my friends have started riding Trial bikes, most of them riding Gas Gas Txt 250-300 bikes, and now I have bought myself a new Gas Gas Txt 300 bike. I have only ridden it for about 50 meters so far, so everything about trial bikes is really new to me. I look forward to start riding, and will probably post some pictures on this web etc. as time goes by. Chao //Hannes

After years of wanting a trials bike I got one a couple days ago. It needed some work but I finally got it running and have rode around the yard a bit. Tomorrow is the first real ride. We will see. I have ridden and raced for many years but never attempted trials. I am excited to give it a go.

Hi, Just a brief hello from me, Brian. I'm from near Dorchester, Dorset, and ride an ageing BMW K100RS on the road. I've been thinking about replacing it with something smaller and lighter 'cos at 61 going on 62 it is getting a bit heavy. Used to follow trials as a youngster back in the mid-late 60's so may get something for a bit of Green Laneing. Anyway, I'm pleased to have found this forum, the info and responses I've read so far are encouraging. Brian

I've joined the forum because it seems like a good place to learn from folks who know much, much more than I do! I'm a retired teacher who has been riding on roads and trails from more than 40 years, but has never been on a trials bike. Now seems like a good time to correct that oversight, especially since I live in an area with lots of places that look perfect for trials riding (southern Illinois, in the Shawnee National Forest). I'm looking forward to reading and learning. Thanks!

Hi All, I'm an old (70)motorcyclist, still riding my CX650 on a daily basis. Many years ago, about 1959 I started a Motorcycle apprenticeship with an Auckland (NZ) matchless dealership John Dale Ltd. ,by name. App. 1960 or there abouts we Had an englishman by the name of Bob Gollner who was a keen trials rider working with us as mechanic. I remember Bob built a "special" while there and used a Villiers motor to power it He was also a very good trials rider.. Reading Classic Motorcycle and your pages I note the same name frequently being mentioned as building trials bikes and owning a motorcycle co by the name of Cheetah motorcycles. Is "my Bob" the same guy. Th…
