Hi, A familiar story here.............. I did schoolboy trials as young un and have been away for erm ,mmm, 46-13=errrr 33 years ('kin eck??). Been doing road bikes since i was old enough to but a mate has just got the bug again himself and passed it onto me. Just picked up a Cota 315r to get started on. Not sure which club to join yet so any recomemndations would be gladly received thanks. I don't feel old but wondered at what point do you become a veteran?????????? All the best. Reecy

Hello from the upper peninsula of michigan.Have been riding offroad since 1975 (1st bike was a ty250 and had no idea it was a trials bike)Have raced mx and a lot of enduros and scrambles with some ice racing and flat track in there.I live to ride for real.I took a trip down to Missouri this spring and picked up my 1st modern trials bike,a 2015 GG 300 pro. With a bike like this the only excuse I have for poor performance is me.I have done 2 meets in wota (Wisconsin observed trials association)in intermediate and found my trials skill lack pretty bad.I managed to finish with 2 men behind me in my 2cd trials meet but have a lot to learn.I figure I will never be more than a in…

Another oldie thinking of restarting up in the North West. Started riding a 250 Bultaco in 1974, also had a Montesa 247 UKR and my last was a Beamish Suzuki. Stopped when I moved into rallying in 1978 so thats a 32 year gap, Blimey I most be getting on at 50yrs !!!! So whats changed ? will being 50 make me a veteran ? Looking to get a Sherco as a friend works for a dealer, but whats this NO seat ! will my legs manage to stand all the time!.

Well another newbie here.know nothing about trials, but always facied giving it a go. Been riding dirt bikes forever, doing enduros, H&H and the odd rally.Anyway decided it was time for something a bit slower and less expensive.Don't even have a bike as yet, but hopefully that will be remedied soon. So let the fun begin

Hi, Funny how these things go around, I used to ride in local club trials about 10 years ago and due to my accumulation of son-in-laws have bought a bike and intend starting again. The bike is a 250 Evo 4t and hopefully I can enjoy it once again, but this time with a steady old 4 stroke , and a very keen son-in-law !! Regards to all Lincol

I've been into pre 65's for a while although i don't get to compete very often. I did a season of the various Scottish events (but not 'the Scottish') a few years ago on a B40 and I hope to do more this year. Just came across this website so I thought I'd join to help with info on prepping bikes, events etc. cheers Phil

Hello All! Just wanted to say hello, introduce myself and express my appreciation for such a great site! My name is Christian Otero, been living in Northern California's San Francisco Bay Area all of my life, have raced vintage MX with AHRMA since '93 and am presently infatuated with getting back into riding trials (vintage for the moment) as, with each passing year, the prospect of serious injury due to riding over my head in MX becomes considerably less and less appealing! I'm presently getting a Bul 199a competition-ready and have been quite busy combing the forums looking for ideas and guidance to make my new (old) ride as efficient and reliable as can be. This r…

Hi all, I am complete trials novice but fancy giving something other than road riding a go. I am planning on heading to a school for a training day in the near future and if all goes well I will be buying a bike soon after. As a beginner I want to try and stick to relatively cheap first bike and gear where possible.Any advice on starting off in trials, bikes, equipment etc would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Dan

Hi, I'm Tommy from Yorkshire. I used to do a lot of greenlaneing, but had a major 'off' last year, breaking my back, sternum, clavical and a couple of ribs. This ended in a helicopter ride from the moors near Pateley Bridge to Harrogate Hospital. Want to get back to full fitness as I really miss the muddy stuff. So I've bought an old nail Montesa 315. Needs a bit of work doing to it, but hey that's half the fun. My logic being that this will help exercise the muscles I use offroad (Hate gyms). Also not a lot of speed involved when things go wrong, and knowing me they will! Also got a couple of road bikes, a Triumph Sprint ST and a CCM 644 Supermoto. Ride safe gu…

Hey guys, I'm Ian and i've just joined and i'm from Wakefield. I'm probably a bit old to be just getting into this at 29 but I feel like a new hobby. Despite my first child about to be born mid August. I guess it'll give me a decent escape for the day to de stress I don't have a bike as yet, nor transport and towing eye on car. All will come in time. I am going to start with the bike as I can learn to balance and such before getting out anywhere! I do have a mate who will join me as well but will not have much money for a bike, neither will I to be honest but we will have to start somewhere. I would appreciate any suggestions on bike choice. I'm looking to spend aroun…

Recently acquired a 1973 OSSA MAR from the original owner. Rough but mostly there. Not running and needs some attention. The MAR was not a planned machine to own, was looking more at a modern trials bike but this was offered to me knowing it was going to a good home. Time will tell if it is viable to fix up or is cost prohibitive. Always wanted a trials bike, hope to attend some of the Florida events, even if as a spectator.

Hi all It has been a while since I rode and I am badly in need of some practice! The places I used to go to about 15 yr ago, Tholty, Glen Lough, Dhoon Quarry etc all seem to be no go areas now and I think that Laxey mines may be off as well due to it being on DAFF land? Any manxies know where it is OK to ride now? Kind regards Brokeback [/size]
