Introduce Yourself

Hi, I gave up playing with trials bikes in the late 80's when other things started placing demands on my money, mortgages and the like. In those days I had to buy cheap and repair and my bikes included an OSSA 250, TY175 and a Fantic 240 (wish I still had that looking at the prices they go for). Anyway, my step son decided he would like to give it a go and that was all the encouragement I needed. We now have a 2006 Beta Rev 3 125 and a 99 Montesa 315R. I have a load of questions, most of which are around teaching a 14 year old to ride (and for that matter a 46 year old!!!) but I will have a good search before posting in the appropriate forum. Hi all, been exclusively riding road bikes since mid 80s but new baby forces self preservation (sort of). I was toying with buying a new Harley - yes I know, they don't handle, they're slow and they don't stop etc... all of these things are true, which is my point, you live longer on a Harley! However, after trudging around most of the Harley dealers in the south of England, my wife asked me whether I would actually ride this one, or would I scan the horizon for anything resembling a cloud before I would wheel it out of the garage. Hello again to all fellow riders. i unfortunately had to sell my Bultaco Sherpa due to money worries but have now sorted out a few problems and picked my self up what i think is a 1978 Montesa cota349. it has been stood for a good few years but turns over with plenty of compression. looking forward to stripping it and getting it something like ready for some fun. it does need a good few parts so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi i used to ride the scottish school boy rounds etc but left home for better things and as my at the time 1996 beta techno was doing absolutly nothing though maybee it was time to sell up and try something different so after years of road bikes and getting a pasteing at judo competitions and actually winning a few sold my r6 and now am the proud owner of a 2003 beta rev 3 270 and by F~@>k what a differance in machine and after a few hours practice and confidence biulding i aint doing to bad even looking at entering the scottish six days in my home town next year as part of a service team should never have given it up

Hi all. I’ve just got myself a new Montesa 4rt to get back into trials riding on. I’ve been away from the sport and Trials Central for a few years now. I'm an easy course rider and seem to prefer 4 strokes having had a couple of Scorpa 175’s and a Gas Gas Randonne 200. I’ll belong County Durham so there’s plenty of choice for local club trials. Hi I'm Parky. I learned to ride on a Cota 247 when I was 11 and have had trials bikes on and off since then. 36 years later and I've bought a Cota 348 which I'm restoring. I used to ride with west Leeds and Horsforth but will be looking for the easy twinshock trials in the new year.

Hi, Just got myself a Honda TLR200 as I fancied getting back into trials via the 4 stroke route, but not spending a fortune! Anyone got any tips on em? Also, anyone in the York UK area riding TL/TLR'S? Sam.

Back into trials after a 15 year hiatus. Bought a Cotaq 4rt ( pick up monday..) Why Montesa? Perfect blend of a great spanish Bike ( passion and flair) with the precision of Honda power. we should see the same in cars yes? Novice Class I would imagine, will try events but in it for th "puttering" Love the fact that Trials Central puts this forum on - great to see so much activity in Trailsd and so many people with opinions / infomation and the love of the sport. After a 15 year absence I have decided to dust off my TY175 and try some vintage events. At 64 I hope I can still geterdone! I also have a 82 WhiteHawk TY80 conversion that I brought back to the states after a tour in the UK with the USAF. I was fortunate to be able to purchase it as a Kit and put it together one I got home. The WhiteHawk has a 20X2.75 frt tyre and is in need of replacement, but I have been unable to locate one. If anyone knows of a source I would appricate it.

Started riding trials about ten years ago but put it on hold for a couple of years while I was too busy. Now I'm back; I've done a couple of trials on my 2001 Sherco 290 (complete with original tyres, which I thought was quite normal but apparently isn't!) and I've decided to start the learning process again by trading it in for a more modern 125. Once I've bought it I'll see how I get on. I'm a member of WEMC and I'll be riding their trials (and enduros on a WR250F).

hi all, eventually got back into the lovely sport of trials. bought an 07 sherco 290, problems so far = staying on the bike!! bike is jumping into gear when in neutral, not a good sign!! the clutch biting point has shortened!! not being a mechanic, infact no where Near it. i don't have a scooby where to start!!

Hello Everyone, it must be 15 years since I last rode my Gollner Honda TLR250 mono but it still sits in my garage teasing me every time I go in and talk to my other love (no not the fridge full of beer!), a 1989 Audi quattro. Anyway, bike is part way through a rebuild and so is the rider and I hope to get back out into the streams and woods of rural Aberdeenshire in the not too distant future now I class for the over 40s group! Hi I did trial from 1986 to 1993. Since then I have been doing rally, motocross and enduro. In the spring one of my old friends invited me to do a trial on his new trial bike. It was so fun, so 2 month later the enduro was sold and a brand new GasGas 280 was ready to go. I look forward to shearing the wisdom of trial with your guys (and girls) :-) Mud for ever Thomas

I've been riding an Electric Motion Race 2020 model for almost a year now and loving getting back into things, though it's amazing how much has changed. Hi Everyone, just made my comeback to trials after a 20yr break doing all the other two wheeled fun including motocross, roadracing and supermoto. After too many painfull crashes i am back riding trials i used to ride when i was a boy on my whitehawk ty80 then a ty175 and then to a brand new ty250 mono! (shows how long ago that was!)
