  1. Try removing the rear brake master cylinder, let all the old fluid drain away from the reservoir, clean externally best you can, then remove the rubber boot and circlip and push the piston and spring out. Give it all a really good clean. Might be best to get a new Beta seal/piston replacement kit (only a few quid from John Lampkin online - next day delivery) Ensure the cylinder internally is really clean, cover the new piston assy with brake fluid and refit with the new spring, circlip and rubber boot (supplied in kit). Refit to bike ensuring there is a bit of pedal free play (pedal lets the piston return to open position on its own). Top up fluid reservoirwith new brake fluid and bleed till you get all the air out. If you have trouble bleeding it, get a surgical syringe and a short length of clear pipe attached to bleed screw and draw the fluid through then lock the nipple. You should have a good brake pedal. Probably best to put some new galfer pads in and make sure there is no oil or grease on the disc. If you spray WD40 or anything like it near the rear disc you can contaminate the disc without knowing. Hope this helps..
  2. Hi Charlie Typical Rev 3 problem with the stators going. I had 3 stators go on my Rev 3's. Each time were genuine replacements from Beta. One only lasted 2 months! The last one supplied was in 2010 and seemed by then they had solved the new stator reliability/supply issue. The symtoms ranged from motor totally stopping and not going again through to motor stopping, then when cold it would start again and run ok till it was hot again. I didnt try a rewind so you may be OK if they upgrade the stator windings with better insulation etc. Good luck Grumpyget
  3. Totally agree with most of the comments about the seats. 4 of us
  4. I have had this on my Evo and it was the headstock bearing adjustment. If you back off the top (big alloy lock nut) and then tighten the castellated nut with a soft drift or C spanner, and then back it off a little, you will find this cures it. Make sure the steering is still free by turning the hanlebars side to side. Good luck..
  5. I dont normally reply to posts but reading this string of posts has given me the best 5 mins laugh for a long time. Nice to hear there is still some humour out there. I usually go to Sheffield and not really bothered about the interval entertainment - Most of us just get a beer & burger and enjoy the next lot of sections and some class riding. By the way, if it hasnt got a motor in it, it aint worth watchin !!!!
